Hello, I've now had 19 failures in a row of a Faded Velium Belt of Vigor when I have a 345 Tinkering skill (300 + maxed trophy). What gives? Yes I realize it's a 510 trivial, but when I create Round Cut Velium Diamonds etc with a 510 trivial I never have this kind of failure rate. Is this broken? What am I doing wrong?
This is quite a lot of failures in a row. Please double-check if you have at least the first three ranks of the Tinkering Mastery AA line as this can help a lot to reduce failures. The Tinkering Mastery AA line starts by doing a quest in Ak'Anon given by Rylin Coil, near the bottom of the waterfall area. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4301 Some related info is in this thread: https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/tinkering-stuck-at-300.271685/
Belts are brutal, I've had tons of failures but you can succeed. Some of it's luck, some of it's that you have not progressed beyond 300+trophy (I have not either - I had someone with more skill do my second belt and they had no issues) Basically find a gnome who has pushed closer to 350 base skill and they'll have a much easier time at it.
I had the exact same problem. 100% fail on any belt. Try getting to a base of 301 and they will start working. Good luck
Rondor, Thanks for the reply. I was not aware of the Tinkering Mastery AA line (I never saw it in the AA area). I'll look into doing this and see if it really helps the failure rate. I failed another 15 belts in a row last night.
