Hunter Jilare in Shards landing gives quests to kill things. The reward is stated as: Experience Cant be that much, if a lvl 95 character, at 99% exp, with 100% exp going to AA does not even get 1% AA EXP.
Experience this expansion seems to mean you are required to have your slider at 0% to aa. Having it set to aa just makes the exp poof as it's not meant to work for aa's. The poofing is going away next patch I think, but it's still not going to reward you aa's if you set your slider to anything other than 0%.
