Exp in instances nerfed?

Put it back the way it was! Thats all, maybe I will post again in another 5 years

Wow, I managed to get 3 out of the 5 forums trolls to respond to a post, without even trying. There is something special in the air today, I can feel! :D

Doing a dungeon crawl in DZs you weren't using in a week for scraps of xp and loot was really fun. I leveled many characters (slowly) in peace by doing it. It's interesting seeing so many other people posting here did as well.

I understand why they did it now with the replay timers removed, but when you could only do it once a week it hardly seemed abusive of the system. You traded your instanced raid mob kill for a chill dungeon crawl. Sitting at a camp in a zone packed full of sweaties all stepping on each other to take more mobs is just not appealing to me.

I have no interest in early era stuff right now but if I ever find myself considering a trilogy era server this change will push me away from it hard.

Embarrassing oneself usually does draw attention.

I just want to get LDON points for doing raids. That is the most illogical thing in LDONs.

    Besides 2x loot right now.
  6. Tweakfour17 Augur

Why though? There nothing worth buying with points from LDoN missions if you're raiding on a TLP, if there is a specific thing or two you want just do a couple missions and be done.

Having the raids count towards the aug has some merit, since that takes forever to max and every few wins has a tangible increment, but the points just accumulate almost from day 1.

It's the principle. I'm in this god forsaken zone; give me some reward.

You're the one "speaking" to a dev who hasn't been here the last couple years by responding to a 4 year post. If I were you I wouldn't have even posted this.
  10. Elite_raider Augur

You still haven't grasped yet that the resent changes made the post relevant again?

What you are doing is projecting ;-)
  11. Triconix Augur

I hope you know that is not what projecting is.

The forum rules are not to necro an old thread. If the issue is relevant, make a new post. Not respond to a guy who doesn't work here anymore. It's pretty simple.
  12. Gnothappening Augur

Since Ngreth just said in the bug thread that this was working as intended, I am guessing they won't change it. Apparently it isn't a bug, it is a feature.

I have always thought the decision to create a hard line between activities that yield loot and activities that give XP was a mistake. I have mixed views about this change to DZ xp (not sure how it will impact xp in LDON's or Tipt which should yield full xp), I don't like the impact that not nerfing it could have around TLP launches. Competition in open world for XP camps is pretty important to the way racing to 50 or 60 works. Allowing people to chain pull DZs and xp without open world competition makes a part of the game I care about worse.

Raiding should yield some modest amount of xp, more than it does but not as much as a 6 person xp group.
  14. Gnothappening Augur

I haven't crunched any numbers but someone said that, prior to this change, you got about 80% exp in a DZ vs open world. They also said that now it is about 8% vs open world. Since you can't get loot but once from the mobs, you would think 60-80% exp would be enough.

Then again, maybe this will push more raiders to get the perk to not lose exp when dying, since they can't top off on raids any more.

Basically if you get 1 % in open world zone you will get .1 in the instance

Unfortunately the bug post was marked as "not a bug" and locked. I guess they want even more cs tickets for xp camp training videos.
  17. yepmetoo Abazzagorath

He didn't even address the actual issue. He claimed it has not changed and so isn't a bug. Lazy customer service on that.

Can still get normal exp in plane of time. And can still get normal exp in all non-AoC modern raids (so most raids moving forward). So just seems punitive to ignore it.
  18. Slasher Augur

He ignored it. If you were getting 10% of the xp you were getting before the patch and no notes say anything changed it most def is a bug. He didn't even investigate he just looked at patch notes and assumed the change never happen before when it did. Like Hatching they lowered the XP in 2018 and no patch notes since talk about lowering it again but you now get 10% of what you were getting before the patch. This most def is a bug.

Actually it was probably the single most 0 thought out move by the company to the game. A lot of people went big setup to be able to level in instances and not bother the population, myself included. Then they went and nerfed the xp in them. I guess they did it so the open world seems more lively, but with all due respect it really is a slap in the face to people who spend a lot on subbing many accounts smh.
  20. Abundant Elder

It's genuinely the biggest slap in the face to the playerbase outside of anything I can think of, I almost quit when they did it. Was one of the main reasons I went for a larger account setup so I didn't have to disturb people wanting camps. Is absolutely and completely absurd, I'm honestly surprised I didn't bother them about it and get them to take a second look like I've done with some past things, but anywho.
