Is it the answer that almost was, but wasn't: experience points? Is this thing quest related? Is the thing the confirmation dialog box ? Is it the announcement box thingy that advertises events and stuff like "Empires of Kunark unlocks today on the Phinigel server!" and such? Is it something you can find and access under the "EQ" button? Is it something to do with the map ? Do you access this thing by pressing the daybreak store button? Is this thing required for gameplay? Is this a ui element that can be toggled on and off using a hotkey? Is it related to buffs? Does it involve the tutorial? Is it your (or any) character's guild tag? Does it have something to do with the name tag/title? When we guess the right answer will be like "oh that was so obvious how did I not guess that"? Is the thing we are looking for some part of the EQ interface ? But it is visible in the EQ interface unlike visible in the play screen? Reference is made to the concept that frustration is not fun. I agree. So, here for you, my friends, are TWO hints. HINT ONE: This thing has been in the game since day one (I think) and remains intact to today. Early it was known to few people and used by even fewer. Today, I guess it is never used. Except, I thought of it and did. HINT TWO: There are two slash commands that are frowned upon by players. Upon use thereof, a player may be asked to cease and desist. However, the commands are by no means illegal. My subject is related to one of these commands.
Sweet baby Yoda, it's the player inspect window, isn't it? I used to have a message in there saying something about people wanting to peep inside your clothes without even so much as a "hello" first, lol. Edited to add: FWIW, I thought of this and dismissed it back on page two or three or so! ty hehe
/congratulate YES! For those counting n's, I called it Personal Message as seen in Inspect. And, I was wondering if I would have to post a Screen Shot. What do you think? Do you need to know how to do it?
YAY! I *think* it's the character bio, or character biography, officially? I could easily be wrong. Since that had zero n's in it, I tried to refer to it as something with at least two n's! This was very tricky. I can't even quite pinpoint *why* I dismissed this without guessing it anymore. I thought of it when opening your inventory was "no, but that's part of it" because it's more like opening someone else's inventory. Something made me chuck it without asking. I almost asked it when you said with a HUGE stretch it could be related to overseer, but I noped it myself then, too. Argh! Edit: Poop. I tried to hop on to see if a really old character still has her message, but all the servers went from Up to Locked Does explain that I didn't actually time out of character select when I afked a while though.
You bastard... you knew I was onto it, so you threw this out there in the hopes someone (you probably wanted Verily) would get it before I did. Fortunately for me Whoops got it, because any winner not named Verily is a win for me.
Probably the “yes” to it being (sorta) an item. The character bio/message also crossed my mind early on, but the lack of “N’s” and item thing drew my attention away until the end when I started to strategically disregard some of the responses.
I demand an apology, because: I honestly don’t understand why you guys ever doubt me at this point...
I dunno, this particular chain of evidence you've presented implies more that you think I know the answer than that you knew the answer! Edit: Also, yeah, I spent a while guessing things that were contradictory to earlier responses because it seemed too tangled for all of them to have been accurate. You hear faint mutterings about Lavastorm in the distance.
That is unfortunate. And since we are sharing our old character messages (which is pretty cool - I think the others should share as well), I just had “I’m not wearing any underwear” as my message back in the day.
