Eq automatically into window mode

Why not just switch back to full screen at character select? seems like you are adding un-necessary steps

Whatever Kunark era did is a moot point now.


Just a couple patches back, like within the last 90 days, they removed EQ starting up in fullscreen as some players were getting black screened on attempted entry to game due to Directx version fullscreen incompatibility on some systems clashing with Windows 11's Taskbar aero peek behaviors.

Type alt and enter together at character select to swap to fullscreen now. Once that's done, the game remains fullscreen even if you swap characters around.

You can change the default resolution from the advance options in the launcher. They could play the game with a 2 minute fix.

It's not a "slight inconvenience" it's literally having to redo your UI every time you get into the wrong mode.

You can also make a backup copy of your UI by making a copy of it and quickly fix it as needed. Sure it would be better to be able to go back to just staying in full screen resolution. Depending on people who are having the crash issue to know where to find the solution isn't a great idea. As it stands now there isn't a great solution for everyone but at least you can quickly restore your UI with a little planning.
