Yes, mage epic made them quite easy. They were the highest mitigation/hp tanks and also were immune in 2000 to many effects. The mage pet was changed sometime in 2001 (the epic version) and later versions were changed as well. We used 3 mages and 3 clerics to do the entire AoW event when luclin was current content.
