Dodge & Block - Can you?

    Since NTOV(RoF) my fellow warriors and I get 0 blocked and 0 dodged against the main raid mobs. We are talking 3-6 minutes of tanking without it going off once. Luclin, Cazic the Inchoate, Slave Driver Sedros, Vyzh'dra the Godslayer, Xulous Prime, to name a few looking at my logs.

    It works fine for group content. So we figured Sony just wanted to make raid content harder.

    Seems every time we mention it, some suggests its a bug.

    So the question is, are any tanks seeing the same thing as we are?

    Some suggested that maybe we went over some cap and the system is defaulting to 0. I believe they said it happened to rangers a few years ago with their attack. Problem with that is it wouldn't work in group content either if we went over some cap and on some raid mobs it does work. Like WOW I dodge & blocked a few attacks from Deathmaster Sarenth.

    At this point trying to 1) Confirm the community is aware of it, 2) Isolate if there is anything that can be done on our side as a work around(if it is in fact because of a cap) 3) Get some attention on it if it is in fact a bug.

    If it is intended, then it might make a difference in what heroic stat augs I use in my armor.

    With the nera 100% strike through, i suppose that means ac > hdex or hagi

    I started a thread in the tank forum several months back about reduced dodge/parry/riposte amounts with certain raids seemingly not gaining the benefit of heroic agility or dexterity. The general consensus was my parses were not long enough to isolate any problem since they were not 100,000 swings or more. Likely your 3-6 minutes of tanking will be met with the same criticism.

    this was discussed in the beta forums and the dev response was "we are aware of it but not really sure how to fix it because if we reduce the stats on the raid bosses to where it would allow dodge parry and such to work it will break make the raid content trivial". so ,they are trying to figure out a way to fix it. community and devs are aware but a solution has not been reached.

    Not all parses need to be 10 hrs long to prove their point. If you dont get a single block or dodge in 6 minutes, I think that shows something. Thats 1000s of attacks without a single dodge or block. Besides, the devs admit that defensive skills have no effect against raid mobs

    In 6 minutes you'd have something more like maybe 200 combat rounds against you, unless you're swarming or something, you should indeed be seeing defensive attempts > 0 in that time tho.

    So then it'll just make tanks favor AC even more now, right? Unless there is a certain threshold for hdex that is causing this - ie 399 hdex allows you to dodge/block, 400+ the mobs ignore your dodge/block...

    Most testing I guess, but that really does suck for tanks in that regard. Either stop stacking hdex at a certain point or just switch to the top AC augs.

    How is this bug playing out in CotF?

    Haven't looked at tanking logs for COTF but Xulous Prime is mentioned. This particular raid mob is honestly so weak that I top my own healing parse as a warrior - if that gives you an idea.

    As for HDEX, I don't think it's possible to roll with the top AC augs + current raid gear and -not- hit at least somewhere in the early 400s.

    If it is just plate tanks losing Dodge and Block (like them reporting it), then HDex doesn't get effected as it only boosts Parry (Block if monk/bst, not the shield/staff block or anything tho) + Riposte. Only HAgi would be tanked since it boosts Dodge. It doesn't seem like its every mob either and when devs finally fix it you will just have to go back anyway :p

    strike through effects parry as well as dodge and block. And as the devs have stated, the problem is due to 100% strike through rates

    Lol that must've slipped from memory. Yeah, so hdex would still be fine and like Ex said the highest AC almost all have dex on them so it wouldn't matter.

    Topping your own heal parse made me lawl though.
