Do you enjoy playing Overseer each day?

I used to enjoy Overseer before they made it so damn easy. I found it interesting to look at the different agents and figure out which combination of 5 quests to do to get the best out of it. But with most things you do over and over and over.....everyone gets bored of it.

I'm thankful this isn't the boomerang game, cause I got tired of running that after 3 runs.

Raiders get bored after 10 runs of an event, groupers get bored killing the same mobs over and over again to get items.

I'm just thankful that Overseer is quick, it is that quick to do I don't get bored while I'm doing it.

Yes they could have added something which took longer and was more engaging, but that would be worse after you have done it X amount of time and become bored if it.

I am very much enjoying the /overseer feature and wish I had given it a try earlier!
Only a couple weeks of using it, and I've found renewed hope in moving my toons forward, resulting in my resurgence in the game.
I'm a determined casual who boxes 99% of the time. Fitting EQ into my busy work, kids and life schedule is a daunting task, and having /overseer enables me to move forward 6, 12 and 24-hours at a time, even if I don't have the chance to actively hunt or quest in the game.
Thus far I've only taken advantage of earning xp and some Tetra, but look forward to checking out the other rewards in due course.

I agree that a mobile option for overseer or EQ would be amazing!
If we could somehow get the EQ brand out there into the hands of mobile users, I think it could generate interest in the game itself in a massive way.
Anyone ever play the arcade game 'Gauntlet' in the 80s? One could choose from playing a barbarian, elf ("Elf needs food, badly!"), wizard and valkyrie - imagine if there were a console version where one could play warrior, wizard, rogue, etc. from the EQ pantheon and it's about defeating Nagafen, for example, as the first major quest.

you should work for them, you sound like a brochure.

My experiences with Overseer have been mixed. more than once i started a new level 85 on Overseer and quite literally <none> of the agents I started with matched any of the offered missions. after 49 hours of not even being able to do basic recruit missions and as it was a newly heroiced character, i deleted it, rerolled the level 1, did the noob questy bit for completionism, then re-heroiced that. This has happened to me more than once. the second was NOT a heroic and I used DBC from the 500/Mo w/ All access to buy 3 agent packs which got me one quest I could crit win and gain an extra agent. It lagged behind other characters who leveled the same day significantly. I posted about it several times, never got a reply, but it was marked not a bug. Go figure.

Change it to work like FF8 card game... but you gain lockout time every hour but you can stock up a certain amount and each game you play cost 6-24 hours of your lockout. So you can only play so often but you win better cards "overseers" and win rare ones etc.

I'm probably number 2. I play it daily but can't say I enjoy it. It feels like more of a chore but the rewards are great and too good to pass up IMO. I play it on 6 accts and 3 servers so it takes me a bit of time to do. I like the improvements they have made though. The auto fill saves me about 15 minutes to do them all.

Before they auto thing I just picked the first agents in the list each time and it worked great. Haven't really noticed much change since they added auto fill. I have to admit though I never would have spent the time you did on it but I am not into that sort of game or mechanic.

Do you really think it made a big difference picking each out? I guess you can still pick the perfect missions part though right?

Like some others have said I am not sure if it is a bug or not but I have picked 5 missions all with 80% chance or less on my main who zones alot and had 0 fails but my boxes who sit in one zone alot of times with 95% + chance to win loses missions all the time. I am not really sure picking overseers really matters at all unless you need say a level 3 for a mission and if you use that single level 3 you have for a level 2 mission it may mean you can't get he mission that needs a level 3.

One of the missions called for using 2 rangers, if you used the first one in the list for the first slot you couldn't complete it as it was needed in the 2nd slot. Sadly the missions that needed a little more thought got the agents changed after a few months.

I still avoid using certain agents in first slots as I know there are some quests where it is the only one which fits. I've also learned to not automatically use the first agent as most times the next one gives the same stats but can have multiples of it as it is common.

I used the wow phone app to make a million gold over a 3 month period (was a goal for fun). Then they changed it and it's no longer possible. Having Overseer as a phone app would be awesome even though I despise its existence in game (I use it more now that it has an auto fill button).

Hmmm.. once I got the first slot filled I never had a problem but I have only been playing it for 3 months approx. I probably could have had more critical victories then I was getting I guess.

I enjoy the artwork and wish OS showcased it more.

Enjoy clicking around in OS to get a daily bonus? Sure, but I wish an equivalent was available in kill quest form for every level range. HZ daily tasks should yield same/greater reward as OS.

It's too convoluted for what it actually is.... it could have been a small set of "minions" who go out on quests and level up instead of tens of bs characters.

    I'm in the #2 crowd.
I log in, rather wake up the computer in the morning before work. I refresh buffs on 4 accounts and do overseer primarily for collects to finish off older expansions. I start with with sets that need just 1 or 2 to finish off. Spend those AA's and start over. On my main I'm finishing off Rain of Fear collects, rest of the expansions are done.

I've used it to level a couple toons up to 116, now I can run them through CoV/ToV/ToL missions and quests and get them to 120 and some AA's.

EQ in a whole is time. Where do you spend it. Majority of the player base are middle age now, steady careers, family and such. So, do we finish off the current expansion and evolve our cloaks? Finish off trade skills for AP?

Our time is valuable, if you raid current content, that might take up a few hours between the days depending on your guild. Overseer is a way to gain the few % of exp lost during raids or just normal play time. It's a way to gather some items or ornaments you want.

My biggest grip on it is the fact I have 3 agents of a certain class/name. I use one for mission X, now I have 2 left and it calls for the same agent again and I cant use him/her. Yet I can combine the excess agents to another class because they are the purple color...

I don't enjoy it but it's something I can do while waking up and doesn't take any time, multiple hands(kybd/mouse) boxing etc, zoning, or attention, so it's the thing most likely to get done every day, even if I'm just collecting tetras for some possible future use. I know I'm reallllly slacking when I don't even bother now that there's auto fill button.

    4. I'd much prefer a login reward. Fellowship vitality might a be nice option.

Does anyone actually "play" Overseer? I always felt it was clicking some buttons for about 10 minutes a day. I hardly define that as "play"

Overseer is a boring chore that feels like an obligation.

There is a bit of fun to be had when you're leveling up in Overseer. There's a bit of strategy in how you level up the quest lines to maximize player XP and get accomplishment awards as you level up the Overseer quests. But once I'm at max level, then it's just mindless clicking for the rewards.

I also like looking that the art. At max level, I still admire the art even though I'm just clicking Auto-Fill/Start Quest over and over.

I don't like Overseer. It's a thing I need to do because it is valuable rather than a thing I want to do because it is enjoyable.

Make it a phone app and I would probably read and interact with the quests and enjoy doing it, because it would keep me engaged in the game while away from the game. It would also be cool if the app interacted with the in-game mail system.
