Do any guilds still exist that don't use Discord or voice chat for raiding?

One of my guildies is stone deaf. He stopped raiding (Povar) because of not being able to use voice chats. When he was leading raids, he was great. He had his hotkeys prepared.

The benefit of voice chat is that one can generally talk faster than writing. People talk at 150 WPM, and typing happens at about half that speed.

But relying on voice chat has many issues.
-many people don't own a microphone, if they do it is usually very poor quality like a built-in laptop mic
-voice chat is far less precise, not everyone can speak clearly, some people are simply hard to understand, especially when multiple people start talking at the same time
-if you go AFK you will have missed the voice communication, while you can always reread chat messages
-like Leerah said, people who are deaf are shut off of all the communication
-some people prefer to listen to music while gaming, which drowns out voice chat
-people who can't have sound on due to their living situation where they can't bother family members (1)

    (1) Some argue you can use headphones, but this is less than ideal, you can still only listen and not talk. Over-the-head headphones generally start to hurt your ears after a while, you're not supposed to keep them on for hours. (there are large headphones that go fully over the ears and hurt less, but they are generally a lot more expensive and you still need to be careful because many have far too high clamping power which hurts after hours). In-ear headphones don't have that problem, but they tend to have less clear sound from my experience.
