Did I miss the "Something Big" surprise from Fippy Fest?

A special unique mob like that, at the top of a tower is probably the end boss for the tier or expansion

Tried that. First, I had to be logged into YouTube to see the "Clip" button. Next, I can't seem to embed the clip anywhere, only share the URL. So, while I can post the URL so everyone can see the clip, I can't, for example, place the clip on my The Outer Brood wiki page, like I do lots of other EQ video clips from YouTube.

Also, it's only part of the screen, as YouTube doesn't seem to let me crop out the rest of the screen.

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't do what I would like. Should Daybreak/Darkpaw actually post on their YouTube the short (they showed 26 seconds of it on the Fippy Fest video) video of the new dragon, then I can place that so everyone can just watch that.

Mech guardian was an NPC, and while maybe only once, it was killable. I remember killing it.

It can be killed every year (on live servers and servers that have opened up Dragonscale HIlls) during anniversary events. Well, technically not kill it, you just beat it down until it HP locks, then it regens and you do it all over again.

Isnt mech guardian also a zone? Or was that something different?

It is also a zone. There are a few quests in there, including for Eron's Jewelry.

Not excited about the dragon, for me EQ graphics are moving more and more to EQ2 graphic style which I am not a fan of.

Each year I find I'm playing more onTLPs rather than live and I much prefer that look than a lot of the new stuff that is coming out, apart from the old graphic black wolves. But the wolves do have a certain charm.

I get really frustratated with seeing the new graphic look stuff in Old world zones, they really look out of place.

At the cost of Oakwynd (GoD), Mischief (VoA), and many others. All TLP servers together have only a population of about two high populated servers, and the TLP crowd seems to be shrinking. All that the TLP crowd is doing, is hopping from server to server. The live server crowd is much bigger. In contrast to Teek, Tormax is a nearly total fail as one of the least populated EQ servers ever, right from the start.

Yeah, I guess I didn't expect the big announcement to be a prank.

It's the first live event in so many years so I expected more. They really had me going. Maybe I should blame Fading for hyping it up, when he knew it was nothing. =)

Its a really cool looking big old Mecha Dragon!! Its not something they normally do, show the center piece ( maybe end game boss ) of a new expansion 6 months early. So, yes it is sort of a big thing.
No one is going to like every announcement but a lot of people think its a nice thing to see.

Rats are more terrifying than dragons at the same size. Giant rats ! With two heads and four ears.

From a storyline perspective too, can introduce the ratonga from EQ2. Ratonga city. Lots of lore and storytelling opportunties that actually feel like EQ can happen with this.

Wondering if they run at bardspeed? Nope, they run faster than the fastest run speed in EQ.

Bigger is not always scary.
Now we talking the new fastest mob in game, thats scary.
Part of what made GoD expansion scary, mobs were fast.

If these rats roam the entire zone too, they leave no stone unturned, next to none safe areas, thats additional scariness. Thats EQ like. Basically EQ, huge the wall, be near the zoneline, entire zone is not safe, safest thing to do is hug the wall.

It's a clothed/armored dragon, and not a mecha dragon. I think what may have thrown you off is nothing in game compares in size except the Mechamatic Guardian.
