I usually give DBG devs the benefit of the doubt, and somewhat defend their decisions.

Im not sure how the devs, after first responding to this thread saying they were looking into it, and then again responding that no it would not be fixed by the weekend could then NOT give any update at all on Monday, when they saw how upset some of the players were.

Anyone who reads this thread can understand that there are people frustrated by this obvious bug. They were frustrated that they werent going to be able to AA this weekend. All they have done by not responding is increased this frustration. I am sure most of us would have been happy with a "we are still looking into this".

The exp and horse situation are both mind boggling. Had so much time to get this right.

    Epic fail.

My guess is that it’s either A) a complicated fix that requires extensive work, B) they are trying to determine the best course of action as thousands of dollars were spent on potions, mounts, etc. and they are unable to adequately address the issue, C) a combo of both A and B, or D) they can’t find the issue and don’t know how to explain this to us.

i still think there is a non zero chance that the exp is working as they said, and people just didnt realize how bad AA grinding is in Luclin until they were expecting to get 15% of an AA each kill on blue mobs.

Whether or not it is "working as intended" 2-3% a kill with a 50% bonus is too slow for a server with such short unlocks... I figured in a decent group I can get 2 MAYBE 3 AA an hour without the double chanter whole zone to yourself scenaria OR AE groups.

My SK needs 198 AA to get all the what I deem to be necessary AA. 80 hours on average to get that is a hell of an undertaking.

Literally anyone that has played on both this server and any other TLP during Luclin knwos the exp cannot possibly be working correctly.

    https://www.everquest.com/news/eq-selo-mangler-progression-server-update-20th-anniversary-2019

“Selo is going to be a Fast Progression Server. This server is for anyone who wants to experience all of EverQuest's 20 years of content and fly through the expansions.”

“On this server, experience will be gained at nearly double the rate of Ragefire or Lockjaw.”

Fact: Selo AA exp is currently on par with Phinny and Coirnav in era, and is half that of Agnarr in era. No one will even make it to PoP with these experience rates. Daybreak is just begging people to cancel their memberships and stop giving them money.

so roughly 16 hours a week grinding to get what you need in the remaining 5 weeks? doesnt seem unreasonable. and im not being facetious. that doesnt seem that bad. especially since after 100, alot of those AAs are minimal in terms of impact
  9. HoodenShuklak Augur

So if it's currently slower than Agnarr that's just gross. Literally you won't be able to keep up 1 guild. There aren't enough hardcores that also care enough about progressing in-era on a niche TLP. And if what they say -- you need 1,000 AA in some expansions -- is true, then it's going to probably turn into an ultra casual server where nobody even raids in-era content.

You didn't have to grind too hard on Agnarr to cap AA's while in a raid guild, but you also had 3x more time.

Now increase that by 50% cause they bonus is about to drop so make it 24 hours a week....

    Gets a little more rediculous

    E) working as intended
  12. TALIBANNED Journeyman

perhaps, yea. i will say its a little odd they havent said anything since friday about it, since there is obviously alot of knowledgeable players concerned about it. warrants a response, at least

When someone unhappy about aa then logs in a level 60 on agnarr and then a level 60 on coirnav and comes back and says agnarr was much faster and coirnav was slightly slower, I believe them. When people refer to old posts or messages that cite x% dkp in y situation on a prior server, then go and do the same thing on selo, and get less xp, I again believe them.

If the xp rate is double ragefire than claims of aaxp on ragefire or lockjaw should be half of what we see on selo, correct? It's not. Nowhere close.
  14. took2summit11 Augur

Did you ever consider it’s double the rate of rage fire or lockjaw when they released, not what they are currently? The wording isn’t clear. It just says double the rate of ragefire and lockjaw. That can be interpreted either way. There’s way no to tell what ragefire and lockjaw AA was at release, because they didn’t have AA.
  15. Weebles Augur

Nevertheless, the comparison to Coirnav is still applicable and demonstrates a problem.

Dude, the AA takes as long or longer than the regular EXP, it is broken. Quit trolling.
  17. Volts Elder

If they leave it like it is, RIP server.
  18. yerm Augur

Yes I considered it, hence me referring to in-era posts there versus active coirnav or agnarr testing.
  19. Zansobar Augur

Regardless of whether the AA xp is correct or not I guess I find it odd that people rolled on a hardcore server and then are complaining that it's a hardcore server.
  20. ShivanAngel Augur

REgardless of what it compares to other servers the fact remains.

    EVEN IF working as intended.

The rate is entirely to slow to even attempt to keep up with the unlocks. on that premise alone it should be boosted. I play A LOT, like 40+ hours a week a lot and its a hell of a grind. I cant imagine it for someone with much lower playtime.
