Devs - Please make AoC lockouts Character specific, not account-wide

    If the purpose of the AoCs is to make content more accessible to players, why were the raid instances of later expansions (GoD+) not used as a template? AoC lockouts should be 4.5 days, character specific and not account-wide - just like modern raids.

    While we are on this topic, a 2.5 day replay timer is also overly restrictive. More modern raid lockouts do not have this feature.

    Please consider at the very least making the lockouts character specific and not account-wide. We know its possible as this was done on Oakwynd. I understand this was a feature of Oakwynd, but there have been other things that were supposed to be a feature of a certain server and were then implemented on all servers (Relaxing and removal of truebox, for one)

    Hell if they would tie this into the persona system it would be a good way to sell persona slots and the expac itself as well.

    Might be also time to relook at the whole AOC and add in 6 man group raids at classic to live. The reduced player base is starting to hit home keeping TLPs and Live running. It can be scaled to level and lower teir gear drops.

    Unrestricted AoCs = server crashes every 5 minutes. << 0% of happening.

    While this would be ok on a standard server it would be horrible on servers with Free trade. The server lag would be massive trying to keep all the instances open from the Krono Farmers running instance after instance. Not to mention the economy on loot pinata servers would be wrecked.

    While I wouldn't mind them removing the 2.5 day replay timer, I understand why it probably will not happen.

    I would be happy with them changing the AoCs to a 4.5 day lockout and making them character specific. This would allow guilds a little flexibility when planning raid days, and those raid days could be adjusted without missing an entire week.

    That being said, if your track record on things I propose that you nay-say that later get implemented is any indication, Id say its chance is definitely greater than zero, lol. Lets not forget all the times you said they would never allow more than two boxes at a time on Aradune. The game and the devs are much more willing to adapt and change than you are it seems, which I am thankful for.

    If lockouts were character-specific there would be no point in having lockout timers, people would just create as many characters as they felt like it and then then pound away at the server creating far more instances than the server could possibly accomodate, result -- repeated crashes. The whole point of having lockouts is to limit instance creation to a rate the server can manage. The timer values (which have been tweaked previously) are set to give all players a fair share of the available server resources. We've already been spared full-week lockout timers to accomodate guild scheduling. If your guild can't manage a one or two day shift with a 4.5 day lockout timer, you're doing it wrong. The ask isn't about scheduling, as you already know, it's all about RMT. Feel free to keep trying your Aradune logic all you want, it won't make the universe run backwards. Those who keep demanding private picks are showing the same lack of understanding of limited resources.

    They removed the 2.5d timer months ago, its 20h now. Also they used to have a 30m replay timer before some bad actors abused it and servers were fine stability wise.

    Please do no presume to know why I would like things changed. You cannot read minds, stop pretending that you can. I don't want private picks.

    The servers were just fine on Oakwynd at launch, and incase you missed the memo, AoCs are CHARACTER SPECIFIC there and always have been. Once again you show your ignorance of this game.

    Again, AoC timers are 6.5 days, so effectively one week. Again, your knowledge of the game is lacking if you think AoC lockouts are 4.5 days. What I am asking for with the timers is EXACTLY what you think they already are - 4.5 days. Yes it would be easy to shift a raid day with a 4.5 day timer, but that's not what we have currently.

    If you are going to derail this thread, as you do most threads, please at least have the decency to do a tiny bit of research. You have all but made my point for me by saying things would be easy to shift a raid day with 4.5 day lockouts. We finally agree on something.

    Oakwynd isn't Mischief or Teek... Teek barely holds itself together on Sunday and Monday nights... could you imagine what might happen if they did that change... lol

    Every time I make a post like this, people want to act like the changes would be overnight. I have done this enough times to know that even if the devs LIKE my idea, its not going to be implemented immediately. By the time it could be implemented, the servers are going to be far more stable anyhow, since half the population is more than likely going to be gone from Teek before PoP. Not to mention, I don't make posts like this just to benefit myself on my current server. I usually try to make changes that will benefit ALL future servers as well, and I think changing AoCs to be 4.5 day lockout and character specific is a good idea for all servers, current and future. I am sorry you disagree.

    They've done it for one server already which means they probably already got somethin in place to make the server that if they wanted.. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to do it.. they could do it by august patch

    I would be happy to see AoCs match the respawn time of Old Wolrd mobs or 4.5 days if that spawn time is less than 4.5 days. Just so any server down time, scheduled or otherwise doesn't mess up a weekly raid shedule for every week after if a raid is delayed by a day or so.

    I'd also like to see raid lockouts per char/persona not per account. I can already raid on an alt on another account, which makes the not being able to raid on a different char on the same account a wee bit silly.

    I'd also like to see the request timer reduced to 5 minutes if no one has zoned into the instance. Even better if it could be removed.
