Developer Request: Remove/Toggle passive proc effects

I submitted a ticket to swap out my Brell's augmentation, but was denied. Here is my original request:

Essentially I was denied the ability to change the aug because I "have had the augmentation for a long time and have been using it on various pieces of armor since obtaining it". While I disagree with that assessment of the situation, I find that I am now stuck with receiving un-desired aggro at the expense of free 450hp heals to my group within range. This is essentially not a fantastic tradeoff, looking at many other factors including normal regeneration rates.

I would like to either toggle off this passive proc, allow the proc to be a buff instead of passively "always on", or allow us to un-equip the augmentation and turn it into an NPC to receive a quest reward window where we may have a different choice. Ceasing the usage of the augmentation is not a viable option, either. I'd rather remove the proc from it altogether and retain the fantastic stats the augmentation provides.

The same goes for other multiple choice augmentations, such as "Frozen Orb of the Fabled King", although in this case I appreciate the version of the one I claimed during Rain of Fear.

You can swap out your aug with the same dwarf you quested it with. Hail him get the quest, hand it in pick your new one. That easy. Kinda makes me wonder if you did anything at all to see if what you wanted was possible before trying to put this on GMs

I was told there was no way to have this accomplished, but I will try it in-game. Thank you for the reply.

While your focus is on procs from augs, I am thinking procs from player AAs. Warriors for example have Infused by Rage, a constant passive chance to proc a large amount of aggro, regardless of weapon setup. There is no control over this, the only decision to make is at the time of purchase. Once bought, it is permanently enabled. In the occasional group setting where I find myself in a group with another tank, I am not trying to fight for main tank status by using aggro abilities, but the procs tend to bring me close to the top anyway so the mob focus is bouncing between myself and the other tank. I see this as probably occurring more often with the new AAs being added that 1) allow us to be considered for a DPS slot in a group thanks to 2Hand Proficiency, and 2) continue to grant us passive aggro generation via Bold Attacks.

Passive procs having the ability to toggle would be nice.

Chamberlain Thoridain in Brell's Temple will swap out your shawl.
Kerst Frostrift in Plane of Knowledge will swap out the regular or enchanced (raid) augmentation.

    Thanks again for the tip.

The same goes for the Cleric/archetype line "Spell Casting Subtlety" which is now included in the auto-grant AAs. If ever I actually wanted to dish up more aggro with my stuns, undead DD/DoT abilities -- my aggro abilities are nerfed a bit because of this. Having it passive/activatable would be wonderful. Sure, I want it on most of the time, but there are moments when I do not.

Meh. Infused by Rage could be a big deal in its day, but at 3600/proc (a drop in the bucket, now), I'm pretty happy having the ability maintenance-free. You won't tank while in a damage role if you don't intend to, without the multiplier from Improved Shield Specialist. You can also swap masks if you're very concerned, but I can't really imagine who you're trying to let tank, or what mob you're trying to let someone else tank, if you have to work that hard at not doing it yourself.

    Subtlety isn't auto granted. NEXT
