Fixed Internally Damage Reporting Issue - Tears of _____ (Enc Mana Drain Nuke)

    Spell line is not properly reporting damage when used on mobs that it is actually effective on, hampering effective data collection for an overarching issue related to NPC mana.

    Spell kills NPC with Line 1 functionality, without reporting damage whatsoever

    Control example of NPC receiving damage from Line 2 and reporting properly;

    NPC that for sure has mana taking damage (from Line 1 (unreported, but notable health %age drop -considered uploading video for this but seems easy enough to reproduce) and Line 2) from lower level version of nuke, then killing with modern version (Dying to Line 1 damage, no Line 2 damage received);

    Hey very sorry to bother you again so soon but I actually asked this of Absor two months ago and never got any feedback. You're good about feedback! I ask:

    Is there a way that This line of spells can be looked at, and made to where the damage it actually does can be reported/seen? Is it a bug that it doesn't? It's always been a weird spell line with the way it works differently on a mob that has no coded mana pool and a mob that has an endless supply of mana. I take off all of my proccing items to test. For instance, if I go to Bastion of Thunder and cast on A vind militis it will show that i do about 5k damage a cast crit or not. If I tash the same mob it will suddenly do 8k non crits and 22k crits. If I use the same spell on A vind geistlig it kills the mob without reporting any damage.

    Now I go to floor two of Tower of Frozen Shadow of the current expansion and try Tears of Aaryonar on a ghostly student because these mobs obviously have mana with all of the spells they cast on themselves, it reports the same type of damage that it does for manaless mobs, again that's (about 5k damage a cast crit or not. If I tash the same mob it will suddenly do 8k non crits and 22k crits)

    If I cast it on myself, no damage is reported but I can look at my max hp and current hp and do the math and tell it did the appropriate damage of almost 50k.

    I simply wish the damage to be reported correctly, and focusable, and critable like any other nuke.

    Ngreth responded:

    Well. The "sadest" part is: Many NPC's that cast spells are warriors, and have no mana. They cast the spells from scripts, which skips the mana consumption checks.

    This is NOT always true. Some NPC's are actual casters. The ones that cast buffs are more likely to be a caster, but some buff themselves via script as well.

    I'll ask the spells dev, but, I'm not sure there will be a solution in the short term.

    Was able to reproduce this issue and it is now being tracked internally. Thank you for your report!
