Hi, I'm a returning player from PoP era trying to understand current spell resist mechanics. I've read this great thread that explains from a dev how resist checks and sanctification effects work, but still have a couple questions. 1) The thread mentions "adjust resist for applicable focus modifier". What focus effects can increase resistance? 2) In spell data, what does the "Max: xx%" mean? Is it related to sanctification effect chances? For example, the following spell data has "Max: 50%": [39255] Creeping Terror Target: Single Range: 200' Viral Range: 10', Recast: 3s to 4s Resist: Magic -700, Max: 50%
1) I think some bard songs can affect it? 2) It means that even if your chance to resist the spell is over 50%, it will be capped at 50%.
I still get confused when I look at things like enchanter mez spell and I see things like (2/88) next to the mesmerize component heh.
