I've always meant to learn exactly what all the blah blah was on spell descriptions, but always seem to learn from trial and error in game. However, I've recently started a new character to augment my main toon and have once again started learning about new spells. But this time, I would really like to know what all the blah blah is before I get to far along. For the most part, spell descriptions are mostly self explanatory. But there is one thing I've always had trouble with: 1: Frenzy Radius (15/30) 2: Reaction Radius (15/30) Huh ?? so, it affects 15 mobs up to 30 feet away ?... I dunno 1: Mesmerize (1/73) what ? best guess, it will mesmerize one mob of level 73 or less.... again, I dunno someone tell me what it means, and more importantly, tell me how you figured it out ! Thanks guys !

The 1 in 1/73 on the mez, is the minimum level. They could, in theory, make a mez that only works from 59-67, it's just that they usually don't.
It's radius then level in the first case. So 15', level 30 cap. How far 15' is would be harder to explain than any spell I think, unless someone here knows off hand what an easy way to measure short distances in this game is. I think 15' is about 6 dead gnomes end to end.
From http://everquest.fanra.info/wiki/Tips#Units_of_measurement Units of measurement EQ uses units to measure things like spell range. While they are given as something like 150', they have no official name. However, some information was given out in this thread: “We say feet around here. Is that accurate? I dunno.”— Elidroth Renato (Doug Cronkhite), EQ Game Designer “Humans are 6 EQ units tall, so it's pretty darn close to feet.”— Prathun, EQ Developer [Note that the "this thread" link now goes nowhere since they change to the new forums. This is exactly the kind of information we need the old forums kept for.]
So if a gnome is three units, it's five dead gnomes, and if a gnome is two units, its seven and a half dead gnomes.
