The Community Round Table is a program designed to give players and members of the Development Team a confidential space to discuss upcoming design decisions with the benefit of a non-disclosure agreement. This allows members of the Dev Team to be able to discuss with an audience of players topics that are still in development and not yet ready for public scrutiny, providing a degree of player feedback to assist in the making of design decisions. The Community Round Table also assists members of the Development Team with research and a player perspective on topics where such is needed.

    Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Does the Community Round Table act as player or class advocates?
A: The goal of the CRT program is not to advocate for specific change, which would imply an adversarial or specific change-oriented relationship. Instead, the goal of the CRT program is to provide the Development Team with invaluable feedback on issues from a player perspective.

Q: How do I become a member of the CRT program?
A: Twice yearly we will review the current membership of the CRT program and see if there are any positions that need to be filled, or members that are not active enough in the program to contribute. During this period we will open up suggestion threads for potential members; either volunteer yourself for the program or someone may suggest you. Q: What is a NDA? Why does the CRT program require one?
A: NDA is short for a Non-Disclosure Agreement. In order for the Development team to get early feedback on a potential change or to be able to request information for future changes that are not yet sufficiently advanced for discussion with general player community, there needs to be an expectation of privacy, as potential changes which are discussed may not be followed through on or may appear in a radically different manner at release. A NDA gives us the expectation of confidentiality, and some recourse if that confidentiality is violated.

Q: What duties are requested of members of the CRT program?
A: As a completely voluntary program, all participation is at each individual player's discretion. Generally, topics will be proposed by the Development Team and each member may respond as they see fit. On occasion, if a member of the program feels there is an issue of sufficient urgency, they may bring it to discussion within the program. As membership is completely voluntary, no participation is required, however members who do not contribute will be replaced as needed.

Q: What compensation is granted to members of the program? Are their accounts comped?
A: No compensation or complimentary (“comped”) accounts are provided to any member of the program for participating in the program. One small benefit that players who participate in the program may possibly receive is early consideration for Beta access. While this is not a perk of the program, because of the close association with members of the Development Team, program members are often chosen for Beta participation. Members are not automatically granted Beta access, and there is no formal benefit as such.

Q: Can we see who the members of the CRT program are?
A: A complete list of members of the CRT program can be found here , along with any particular topic of interest that member has indicated a familiarity with. Please note that members are not "Class Leaders" or "Class Representatives" or anything similar, it is just handy to know what topics individuals feel they are particularly familiar with.

Q: What are the eligibility requirements for becoming/being a member of the CRT program?
A: In order to be eligible for membership in the CRT program, players must have an active account* in good standing, and also must have a relatively clean forum history free of significant incident. Both your in-game history and forum history will be reviewed prior to potential acceptance in the program, as it important that members have a history of positive contribution before being accepted. Substantial infractions in game or on the forums may cause existing members of the CRT to lose membership privileges.
*Certain members who have a long history of positive contribution and who still actively contribute to the program may, on rare occasion, be retained as "advisors" to the program if their accounts lapse. Such cases are handled on an individual basis.

Q: I have a beef with player XXXX being a member of the CRT. How do I address this matter?
A: If you are unhappy with specific players being a member of the CRT, please refrain from posting about your unhappiness in this regard as nothing constructive can come from such conversation occurring in a public space. Instead, please contact the EverQuest Community Manager about your reasons for discontent with a specific player's membership.
