Constructive feedback on Mangler and Selo

Hows grouping lvl 1 to whatever on a live server these days? (It doesn't exist).

The unlocks are too short on Selo, I like everything else.

Mana robes are still there. Sleeper's stuff we'll have to wait and see how people handle that. But my guess is there will be at least 1 of some of those things. Fungi Staff and CoS will be around on Noble vendors at some point. Dark Elf mask via Casino.

Any chance either rule set is tweaked?

No, if they had any inclination to listen to us we wouldn't be where we are now. That's not going to change. They will dig in.

Mangler doesn’t seem to say it will have AoC instances. It talks about load balancing and such, but nothing about there being AoCs for raiding and since it’s the hardcore server I’m guessing this is by design? Hardcores want to fight over mobs would be their logic I’m guessing?

1 month unlocks were sort-of indirectly asked for by the people that wanted racing unlocks (because in reality they would beat most unlocks within days so the 2 week timer after would average out to about 1 month with rounding most of the time). Racing unlocks aren't casual though.

There not close at all on this being a casual server if casual is defined as "limited".

-Casual playtime isn't going to stay with the pack at all on Selos unless the XP rate is really, really high.
-Casual interests might bother, but that's the people still happy in level 40 zones on live servers (etc.), not sure they really have a reason to go Selos with such short timeframes.

A person raiding 2 or more times a week isn't really a true casual. Maybe less-serious raider, or heavy-playtime with not so serious content goals.


A true casual ruleset server also had the chance to milk the classic-ists (i.e., I only play until Velious) people over a longer unlock. Untapped $ as no current server offers this (Mangler will too briefly to count it).

And I agree entirely with you post. If they did nothing else, make it two months. Starting in Velious and two months would be even better.

In addition, on Mangler, big raid targets from each expansion will be available via instances.

Selo is a server with accelerated experience gain and HIGHLY accelerated expansion unlocks. By the second months in, the level 1 to 50 game will be as dead on the Selo server as it is today on Live servers.

Again, this is a Live server that just happens to start in Shadows of Luclin and will be up to the current expansion by in 23 months (less than 2 years).

The max level will be level 70 in August and 85 in March of next year. If you think this server will have a 1 to 50 group game beyond the first month, you're being illogical.

One thing that a lot of folks seem to miss is that Focus effects are not active until Luclin. So we're talking 9 months of weaker casters and way different itemization than on other TLPs.

focus effects are done randomly and haphazardly until luclin anyway. its not really a big loss

While I am not 100% satisfied with the rule-set of the Mangler server, I have to say that between the two it will be my first choice. Luclin start with 1 month unlocks in no way interests me.

I do agree however that the Selo server might be more appealing if they lengthened the unlock time and/or added free trade to it. Even then though I would still play on Mangler for the classic start.

I was hoping for a bit more special rules: Free-Trade, Corpse Retrievals, Limited PvP, etc. Something to set them apart from the current servers. Anyways there is still time, perhaps they will revise their server rules.

So? It will have a 1-50 mass when it launches. I am not hardcore enough to spam tons of alts anyway; I am looking forward to doing 1-50 with groups and newly made friends next month not next year. (Unless there is an awesome new tlp next year).

Understandable that you only want to level up one character, and will start on day one, but for anyone else that starts a month in to the server, there will be no groups for them. This is a 1 month server basically.

Just another reason its DOA, shouldn't concern anyone.
