It might happen one to four times a week. It doesn't appear to matter what I am doing in eq. The computer has never rebooted like this except when playing eq. Although, eq is the only game I play. Otherwise I am just surfing the net. Its an old computer. Intel. 768 meg ram. Anyone have any experience with random reboots and care to share what their issue was? Maybe I can get lucky and my issue isn't too obscure.
Random reboots I've found are typically caused by: Audio drivers Graphics drivers Bad Memory Underpowered/failing power supply Improper performance tweaks First thing I'd do is update your firmware and drivers.
Before all that, I'd crack the case open and use canned air to clean it out. Odds are pretty good your video card is overheating based on the description. When was the last time you cleaned the physical dust and dirt out of the inside of your computer?
