Cleric Race for Teek

Going to main a cleric on Teek and having trouble deciding on which race to go. My duo partner is going to play an enchanter and go either high elf or gnome. I am leaning towards Dark elf but worried if that is the right choice here. Any recommendations?

Edit: Appreciate all the input. Convinced my partner to roll Dark Elf for that sweet sweet view. Debating now on opting into the family pack for LS to get persona's for both.

Thinking of doing Human (Innoruuk) myself for the Innoruuk neck and the Dread Forged Shield

I always go Dark elf for the Inny neck snare. That thing is so helpful on DE cleric and Troll shaman. It will be a slight pain if your friend is a gnome or HE though. I still haven't decided what to play either between DE cleric, troll shaman, iksar necro or high elf mage to start. I want to try and mostly group with the launch rush at first even though I always end up with a four box crew.

Ench should be Dark elf as well for that sweet hide button to break charm.

Halfling is another good choice due to being able to hide. If you need to afk, just target an aggro mob and repeatedly hit hide until it cons indifferent.

I do this as well, but tbh most ench don't even break mez early these days

Gnomes tend to be better and more powerful than any other race.
Also, if your partner goes Gnome and you are a DE, then your partner will always look better whenever you are doing stuff together.
Finally, since this is a Kunark start, faction matters. So just make sure you both pick a class that can go to Firiona Vie or The Overthere. It will be annoying if you have to go to different towns to buy spells etc.

Dark elf also has hide.

But to answer the OP, just go high elf. You'll get a DE mask later and you can start and origin to the same city as your wife.

What vile propoganda is this? Gnomes should not be a race in norrath, let alone a playable one. Looking up your partner's robe is a halfling thing!

gnome can tinker some really cool armor with fun clicks later in live.

You can just use the persona to teleport to wherever another player is. Start ogre, use persona to make a guy in freeport or wherever, plorp. Change back to ogre after binding.

If you really really want to min/max halfling is the way to go because sneak combined with invis/ivu potions can allow you to drag harder to obtain corpses in areas where there are see invis mobs.

If you're into the deity clickies I think dark elf might be better, but ultimately the clickies are pretty bad and don't have as much utility as you'd think, at least for cleric. Trust me as a solo challenge enthusiast. I tried it all.

Druid is the only class that really gets the OP deity clicky.
