Womp womp - yea - kinda - except the customizations could be endless. Maybe your character with warrior-like defense, crap melee dps, and minor healing can pick up a couple utility spells (maybe a slow? a snare?) at the cost of DDs. #snarkunderstood, however.
I will tell you one thing not to do... because I did it and learned the hard way. Never put a proc effect of AoE Mez on a weapon (or weapon augment). Yep. I was like, hey this will be cool. The first fight I was in, it proc'd and mezzed me. Then you watch the mobs walk away laughing at you like an idiot.
