Class Idea: Monks

    “The Widowmonk sighed, it had been a long day. Training had been long, but fruitful this day. He sretched and his spider chitin armor creaked slightly. Widowmonk took care with hid gauntlets as the training included poison this day. Memories called, and for a moment Widowmonk was brought back to the past.”

    Widowmonks are scholarly trained Monks that center their philosophy on Spiders, the Arch Queen Arachne the spider Goddess. From armor, to academical poisons, and mutagens the Widowmonks are studious in their forms and styles.

    Widowmonks are centered on poisons, and alchemical mutagens for their armor, and weapons. Mutagens are made with a successful alchemy and subsequent mend check. For their weapons, and armor are attuned to the monk.


    Widowmonks believe that Spiders are the sole reason the Universe doesn’t devolve into nothingness. The webs of creation; both magic both clerical, and wizard allow the seamless whole to abide with the seamless dance of the aether. The dance is harmonious in the belief that the webs of Arachne hold creation together in a sublime order to be wondered, and in awe of. The subtle tensions of her webs allow the the passing of all in theatrical dance called life to a Widowmonk.

    Widowmonks are required to tradeskill for all their armor is pilaged from dead spiders who Widowmonks are almost worshipful of. The scavenging of poison is also a time consuming task, though with the use of mend the Spider Goddess Arachne can create mutagens that alchemize the items to potions, tanning agents, and application of poisons.


    Some ideas, are spiderlings, spiders silkweave armor, with spider silk; and poison vials using mend in an alchemy sack to combine poison vials found in Toxxulia Forest, time and duration up to EQ.

    Some ideas for abilities would be:

    Phase Carapace Armor, a bunch of spider vials, and then alchemist a Banshee Aura spell for the formula, the key being that there is no alchemy used just mend. I believe this allows for a difficulty and challenge inherent for a class not known for alchemy. Eventually or in the case of numerous secondary vials permament poison abilities.

    Weapons, claws with apply poison in time.

    Armor tailoring, difficulty traded for light (in time) magical armor.

    Epic Idea: Terrorantula silks, and multiple poison vials, phase carapace armor, maybe someone has some ideas?
