Fixed Internally Changing Characters/Servers - Someone logged into your account error

same. multiple times a day. even after a hard boot and reset of the computer.

Doesn't happen every time, but happens regularly.

Character - Covennx

Launch client from normal patcher.
Load in to Palatial Guild Hall.
Use the command /camp.
Camp kicks to server select.
Select Play
Get message "You already have a character logged into...."
Click Yes
Get message "Another player has logged in on this account"

This is happening to me so far 1/5x it allows me to swap toons without being kicked to server select, and then telling me someone tried to log on my account. Weird the other 3 accounts aren't having this problem just the main. And I've changed the pw a few times just to be super sure.

Only happens to me on my character with all the biggest bags, kind of wondering if it's an inventory slot-triggered issue.

Little irritating no dev post on this issue since 4/18 and still need more info since they can't reproduce it in their sandbox... I log Strumph on and camp and most times goes to server select though not 100% of the time. I can reproduce it on Beta, Test, 2nd computer, laptop and wife's computer. NO OTHER toon on Strumph's account has a serious problem, but can very rarely go to server select. Zois on other account is the closest with the same issue. Can't be an issue with UI or any other file on my computer since it does it on a clean install also.

This bug (actually multiple unrelated bugs are observed with this issue) is happening more often since the Wed July 20 2022 patch. [Yes, I had to mention the year because EQ bugs like this one remain unfixed for literally years.] Seems to come in spurts. Some periods I can switch characters all day and no issue. Other times like today, every time I go to switch characters I get booted to server select.

Same observation here and happening on more of my characters then ever before.

Yeah it is WORSE! Working on clearing out bags, so had to log off toons to get mules on and 3 of the 4 mains crashed when I camped... though none of the mules did when I camped them out. This is infuriating! And as I keep pointing out no Dev communication on this since 4/18.

***Edit - And when logging out for the night and put traders on once AGAIN 3 of the 4 went to server and had the usual message and had to log all the way back in again... so annoying!

Logged in got on my main, Malbro, in the palatial guildhall and did a magelo sync. Camped out, not fast camp, and got dumped to server select. Clicked on play EQ/enter world and got the message someone else is on the account.
At that point used task manager to close eq.

Fresh boot - one comp mostly but I have had it happen on both comps - repeatedly gets this regardless of the toon I play on. Happened today switching toons. If this was the purpose behind logging into windowed mode - didn't work. I play in full mode and alt/enter when I hit char selection. My play preference is full screen. Stating "if" as a dev hasn't weighed in with further details. Another thing I've noticed, it happens most frequently in the latest xpac. PoK, GH, previous xpacs, it doesn't occur as often and some not at all.

When camping out, are you expecting to return to character select and instead ending up in the world/server select screen?

I can say that I've typed out /camp char and ended up at server select with this exact issue on numerous occasions.

I'm not who you were addressing, but this is what happens to me. I /camp, instead of going to char select, I get booted to server. I try to click enter server, I get an error message that someone else is logged in (they aren't). Then have to go through multiple attempts at the log in level before getting back in.

Yes, exactly this. I type /camp, I expect to goto character select. Instead, it boots to the server select. I then try to go back to the same server and get the popup that someone else has logged into the account, which then boots me out to the classic login screen (the one that patchme gets you).

The first login attempt after this ALWAYS fails, it doesn't seem to actually send the data to login. Evidenced by it does not record an intentional failed bad password. The second attempt to login, with either a good or bad pw succeeds or warns that the login was incorrect. A third invalid login attempt then warns that there was one failed login attempt (should be two if the first invalid login attempt actually was sent correctly).

Character select!

Yes, that is correct. Except that the worst happens: You receive a message stating someone is already logged into your account, so you basically have to exit all the way out and start all over again. You're being punished because you wanted to switch characters on the same server/account.

/camp - send to character select
/camp server - send to server select
/camp desktop - camp and close the EQ session entirely (similar to /q or /ex, but does not leave your character logged into the world

These commands are how it is supposed to function.
