I like this :) - I also spend a lot of time helping new / returning people get up to speed. Just afraid that the dialog might also be:

NewWarrior_lvl90 tells Raid:1 "What does this taunt button do?"
Sam tells Raid:1 "It helps you grab aggro off someone squishy to keep them from dying".
NewWarrior_lvl90 tells Raid:1 "Do I press it now or later?"
    RaidLeader tells Raid:1 "WTF!"

    Sorry - couldn't help it ;)

Tell me what makes you an elitist jerk for not wanting to be wiped or having to request every buff for 20 minutes after it fades and getting flak for it? There is a new age of gamers with the f2p era and a lot of disrespect that leads people like myself to become introvert and avoid it, and that does not make people elitist jerks, but go ahead and call names lol

They stayed up till 2am the other night answering reply after reply in an 80 page thread. They immediately made some changes upon player feedback.

Please.... take.... a... deep.... breath. God forbid you can't pull an entire zone... it is not the end of the world. Don't want the AAs? Don't opt-in.

Cold its not a matter of elitism its a matter of buying power. id be completely ok with AA experience up to 5k AA being a 500% multiplier over todays current standards. At least they would have had to kill 1 or two mobs besides just having a checkbook.

    Agree with Hatsee here

So what. That's where FTP is. If someone is happy to be 4 expansions behind on Silver, SOE is happy to let you login.

So the whole idea is to chuck everything and funnel everyone, ready or not, into end game? Yeah, right, got it.
It's just too hard to actually play the game? Yeah, right, got it.
You are saying, quite simply, "Gimme gimme, I want it now and do NOT feel that I need to expend any effort to reach end game." Yeah, right Got it.

Well right now someone can sub for a month or two and max their AA and get all non-prestige gear and drop back to silver and still use their character without any AA progression for glyphs. This is fine in my opinion since they will never have all of the best augs or group/raid gear this way.

Until I see the changes in action and how they effect the game it's hard to knock them.As a long time player, I've never seen this much open communication or consideration and dialogue with the Dev/GM/Sony team as I have as of late and that leads me to assume if the change turns out impacting negatively they'll tweak it as needed. I play a rogue, not a fan of PLing nor do i openly bash those who purchase/sell them. I just think you miss out on a lot going that route. can only speak for myself. To each his own. Change isn't always bad. EQ should be more difficult.

Janakin at least they had to do something to get there.

Ever heard the expression "every coin has two sides" - If I enjoy playing in the old zones and helping people and suddenly the people are given the easy option to not have to bother with the old zones (is the mist thinning yet?), then yes it affects my playing.
Most people nowadays given the easy option will take it - part of human nature now I think, I don't blame them for that. 2 months later it is "that was too easy - I am bored with that now". The really sad fact is that a lot of us have seen other games do the same type of easy options and not a lot of those games have kept people for long. I may be wrong - and I still hope I am wrong!

yes, thats why normally there is a slight boost in power. When the gear resets started that also were supposedly to help people catch up faster by allowing them to just plow right to the current content we also so more players leave the come back. Because this game isnt farmville or wow. The people that want that have other games and will be leaving regardless instead we lost lots who might have just come back with f2p to yet again find us catering to those who wont stay and are again about to leave with lots more.

I also agree as this change will give a small boost to rogues and zerkers and no gains to rangers we melee most the time.

I though that hs could proc off of your arrow spell attacks?
  15. Melanippe Augur

Indeed. That means nothing you have commented about has any credence?

I gotta say I don't get the changes to headshot, my ranger is only 85 but since the original headshot nerf I haven't bothered to round up tons of mobs at a time, I just kill 1 or 2 or 3 at a time and go on to the next mob. So if the point of the nerf is to stop swarm killing I'd say you already accomplished that the last time you nerfed Headshot. It's pointless to round up 50 mobs at once and HoA them down if you only get a headshot on the 1 you target, at today's mobs hp values the 50th mob would still be at 80% by the time I targeted him and hit him with a HS. Even in PoFire where the mobs hp are low it isn't really worth all the button pressing and trying to get the mobs all tightly packed enough to hit them all with it, just target, shoot, snare aa, usually dead before it gets near me, on to the next mob.
  17. Janakin Augur

No argument there. However, I am sure a good deal of people got PLd with OMM missions, Task Adds and now beaming.. all three of which have been removed to avoid massive exp gains. I guess they are trying to keep those massive gains limited in nature and still help real new players catch up. It certainly has more cons to it than pros.
  18. Ragnard Elder

It does... and it seems like he would know that unless he's just being a drama queen.
  19. Ronthorn Oakenarm Augur

Yeah but if they set it a real low proc per minute like 2 is it going to fire on our arrow attacks like that. I am betting we see it fire once every 12 cast or so.

You know i change my mind lets have everyone do their lvl times 1000 points of dmg, no one would be in the dark every one would be able ta kill an the devs could get the hell of the nerf wagon.
    Hey works for me
    a level 1 doing 1k dmg
    a level2 does 2k dmg
    a lvl 75 does 75k dmg
a lvl 100 does 100k dmg regardless of class
Ya this works for me then i wouldn't feel like every single one of the classes i play which is basically every single class getting battle axed is absolutely freaking worthless when this crap hits the game
