Can't Zoom out of First Person

I recently installed EQ on a laptop and while the game runs fine and no other issues, I can't seem to zoom out of first-person. Mouse scroll doesn't work and neither does binding zoom in/out to keys work either. I don't have this issue with my other computer so not sure what's causing it. I have restarted my computer, closed and relaunched EQ, made sure mouse zoom was activated, plugged in an external mouse, used both Sparxx and default UI. Nothing allows me to get out of first person view. Anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?

I don't play outside of first person but is it possible that you are already in an alternate third person view that isn't compatible with zooming in/out? There are six camera modes if I recall correctly, perhaps rotate to a different one (f9 cycles them) and then try zooming in/out?

It seems to not just be camera zoom. I can't scroll in chat, zoom out/in on map, or get out of first-person. I've searched older threads with the same issue, but either no one states a fix/cause or it's something like relaunch EQ or enter-exit full screen mode. But, neither of those things works. Not sure the issue.

I've also tried a few different mice and none of them let me use the scroll wheel or keyboard to zoom in/out of camera, map, or chat up/down. No idea what's causing this since I have no issue with the other computer with EQ

Alright, after messing with a bunch of things I figured the issue on my end. Apparently laptops with trackpads can have issues using zoom within certain apps. Even with an external mouse connected it won't work. Solution was to go to the program that controls the trackpad and disable it and restart EQ.

Hi. I was having this problem for awhile, too.
Realization: I didn't have the manufacturer's software (Corsair) installed. <facepalm>
Action: Installed it, and am back to full operation. Scroll wheel works great now.
Can zoom in Everquest like normal.
