Not A Bug Can't loot item because it calims I already have it.

I tried to loot a shield today on my druid, It wouldn't allow me to loot it because it claimed I already had one and its lore. It does not show up in my Inventory search.
Is there a way to posses an item and not have it show up in the Search window?

Check your housing, eviction crates, guild hall storage, parcels, etc.

Not sure what shield it is, but if you try to loot an item and already have another item in the same "lore-group", you get a response like that, and an inventory search will not help you if you only search by item name.

Im afraid you will have to manually go through every single item in your house/bank/parcel/bag and check for lore groups...

Or look up all items in that lore-group in the search-window...

Id say you have one in your parcels or elsewhere, as lockjaws suggested.

You can easily possess an item and not find it on search. Search only finds your inventory on your person or bank or house that you own.

It will not find anything you own that you might have put in an alt or someone else's house or that you co- own or in overflow that was returned to you but not yet claimed or other places.
