Can we please get a new TLP for winter?

I love playing EQ in the winter. I know down in California it doesn't matter, but for most of us it does..
Why the hell do new TLP's launch right before summer? its the dumbest time to launch a TLP ever. I started on Thornblade 3 months late, that, mixed with the dumb loot rules, and the screwed up Economy, and hardly any population, it sucked .

Need a new idea for a server? Change hot zones every 2 weeks for levels 10-20, 20-30, 30-40 etc. Its an easy way to get veterans enjoying the game again because some of us actually want to travel and re-live Norrath. Some idiots will comment that this is a bad idea like they always do but give no actual reason why other than some zones are better because of tracking, mob amount, etc. They are so used to playing on easy mode its all they know now.

So what if the zone that is the "hot zone" right now might be more dangerous, old, have worse mob tracking, less loot, etc. People will go to it for the XP, you can bet your . And people will learn how to group in this zones, creating a whole new experience.

Instead of...... CRUSHBONE, UNREST, GUK, VELKS, GE, END OF FUN.

Doesn't anyone else want to run across Norrath at level 15 because Runnyeye is the hot zone for a couple weeks? Or highpass hold?

CAN I GET A GRIFFON GROUP IN KARANA?
I am so mad that this isn't happening yet

They start them in late Spring/early Summer because of their development cycle. Also, most places have school out for summer break starting around that time. Whether that's grade school or college/university, it's more potential players with more time on their hands. Simple math. PoP just launched. You have plenty of time to grind up and catch up.

The two most recent ones are just in POP. There is no need for another right now.

Have you not been around the past four years of TLP launches? PoP is exactly the point they launch new servers. Daybreak clearly sees a need for it.

obviously it's not happening in December. They need to announce about a month ahead of time so there's a period of hype that sells tons of overpriced bags.

I would not expect a new TLP until at least April/May. With staggered raid tier unlocks on live ending in March for Tier 3, most dev time is probably going to prioritize fixing any bugs or tuning issues. That probably means an additional 1-2 months to prep a new TLP.

I wouldnt even be shocked if they waited even longer as this is a brand new server format. People may want to strap in and enjoy the post POP content as they wont be able to just cycle classic-POP again. Maybe some will realize GOD and beyond > classic-POP round 6

I don't know how they are going to be able to top Mischief now, they probably don't either. Only thing really left that could be differen't would possibly be a PvP TLP server that only a very small minority is interested in.

The situation reminds me a little of Agnarr's faster xp rate. Phinny was very slow, then Agnarr was much faster and popular with casual players. Then they launched Coirnav with the old slow Phinny rate and it was not well received at all. Then next year Mangler was revealed as a slow xp rate server and the backlash was so severe that it was changed into a Phinny clone with Agnarr xp and as a result was mega successful.

They've given a lot away with Mischief (tradeable raid loot, massive bonus loot, top tier items obtainable from many targets, just tons of added novelty to the very stale raid game) that people aren't going to enjoy having taken away from them. I think the safest thing they can do this year is clone Mischief with some added gimmicks. If the gimmicks are interesting enough it should be pretty successful.

im ready to drop krono on a new TLP.. Jenn Chan and her flat cap need to make it happen.

I like mischief and have a lot of time and effort invested. I really don't want to go to another server.

On the other hand --- Mischief without the plat dupe would be nice. Or mischief starting in Luclin to have a more interesting start than the usual classic/kunark/velious snooze fest would be nice. The Selo Launch was a blast, and it was nice working through zones and equipping gear that normally I'd never look twice at. Having the bazaar at the start was amazing too.

Or, raise the 2 million plat limit in the Bazaar, and the plat dupe's effect on the economy (assuming they finally fixed it) stops mattering as much, and the net effect is that trade skills just became 10x easier to do.

Also, Combine PoP/LoY with LDoN, Omens with DoN, DoDH with PoR.

The level 70 band is a long stretch and a major force for attrition in TLP's. TSS and beyond the game is quite fun.

Other than those, the expansion unlock pace they settled on was pretty good.

Aradune is still pretty popular too. I think if they just did an Aradune clone but let you box on the same PC it would be really successful. Basically Rizlona with the 2 box limit. It lets you do stuff without a group, but also promotes socialization and let's people take advantage of the extra box without having a separate PC if they want.

Sounds too bland. Where's the chaos and spectacle?

Hmmm... maybe every 10 minutes someone is randomly death touched in each zone? Or the character generator is a slot machine that you spin and it chooses your race / class / deity combo? Or they remove all naming restrictions so that you can choose any name you want as long as it's "Stanley".

Mischief\Thornblade also had a shortened Classic and Kunark. LDoN all also be shorter then previous TLPs, so it's possible that GoD will be out when the next round starts.
