Burst Parse

    some guilds dont bother raiding NToV on scheduled raid times, so you get alot of long fight times on pickup raids with a bunch of alts and random ppl.

    How about you say what mob its on, cause if its an evantil/grelleths parse than you can throw it right out.

    hey look I can do 130k dps for over 4min /g Combined: An aggressive ant in 250s, 33303k @133212dps - Behelit 33303k @133212dps... now i'll just change the mob name to XXXX ....and no one will be the wiser that it isnt a single-target parse! and only possible when theres a bunch of adds that arent capable of killing me (1 in 15 events!)

    I guess I should give a real answer, Brogett's posted parse looks very familiar.

    This was indeed before the fix, so comparing it to anything is meaningless. Meaningless both ways, as ntov mobs are not raid-tagged. It's correct that I don't play anymore, but I am hardly unreachable. The nerf to wizards didn't impact burst much, but sustained is another story. What I meant by "it made very little difference" was that it made very little difference with regards to topping the guild parses, as the guild don't care much about dps at all, and I could top it blindfolded.

    You know its evantil Behelit and the zerker obviously hit Furious Rampage. Which btw I think is a good thing for that raid if you have 3-4 zerkers you wont have any ants up during furious rampage.

    Well yes it was before the fix, but when I asked *you* what the fix meant you said it'll make virtually no difference, so I took your words at face value meaning dps. Besides I *DID* say it was the most outlandish parse I could find and I also deliberately didn't hide the date in the message I posted. :)

    Also a lot in the guild DO care massively about dps, but we're not the "I WIN" classes out there. Look at Agge, or myself, constantly battling with each other. Yes with each other... we gave up attempting to battle you! lol

    Anyway all this berserker vs wizard argument is getting old :(. Rogues are behind ber on burst and certainly no better on sustained (feels like behind - I couldn't non-disc the 50k mentioned here). So if we're talking about burst parses in a melee forum, include the rogues please! A challenge to the casters out there defending their position, give us some real parses of your best rogue dps.

    It's easier to link a good berserker burst and then generalize and say "melees are ok, they don't need anything" i guess.
    But sorry rogues are not ok right now in sustained (lower than all dps classes but maybe berserkers) and burst (far away from the best).

    You two rogues are pretty funny. It's amazing how hippocritical you both are. You only care about your positioning and nothing else. You hide behind your false claim of wanting what's best for the game when in truth you only care about were your class stands in the game. The least you can do is stop hiding behind this false notion you want what's best for the game.

    Firstable you should read again the posts where I supported berserkers (recently) and monks when they needed help as well as wizards for more burn power just before rof (I don't see many casters doing that for melees).
    Then we are rogues so yes we try to defend our class when it is really unbalanced like most people do for their own class.
    But you can try and explain me why I'm wrong or not objective about my class if you can find some 200k rogue burns anywhere or rogue doing 130k in 3-4min.

    No class should hold such an edge over other classes in any aspect of the game, period. If (and an assumption) there's just 1 type of dps, whether burst/sustained any class claiming themselves to be dps should be competitive against the other classes that claim the same whether it is burst vs sustained.

    That said... no one class should also have any advantage in 1 aspect of the game over any other. Group vs solo vs raid. If there's ever to be true balance the game has got to change quite drastically for many classes.... otherwise there should be clear cut advantage in the raid vs group vs solo vs sustained vs burst and no class should have any advantage in more then 1 aspect, even 2 aspects gives them a clear advantage.

    If that means mages/necros get a boost to burst so be it, nerf their solo/sustained abilities (and no i'm not afraid to call for it considering the current differences considering what I'm asking they be brought up to at the same time..)

    and when saying group/solo i mean current content.... not 2-3 expansions ago where it's completely currently meaningless..

    You said no class should hold an edge over other classes in any aspect of the game, period. If all aspects of DPS are equal between a caster DPS, melee DPS, and hybrid DPS; the hybrid will be the most valuable of the three due to the other things like buffs and healing it also brings to the table.

    And those things should be nerfed if they are game changing from the other classes or , brought in line with the other classes. I'm not afraid to say it. If classes want to be equal on all aspects they should be. If one class has an ability that buffs an entire raid either all classes should or they should pay a penalty for it.

    This is what i understand you saying: all classes should be equal in all parts of the game (wow that game would be funny to play)?

    And if that means that necros and mages gets a major boost you are fine with that? (rerolled mage / necro?)

    Okay I understand what you are saying, benefits in certain areas of the game should be paid for in others - the utility "talk".

    I'm a rogue.. I have 1 of every class, and yes I've played every class. There's a certain balances that can be met but just isn't. What I can do w/ an alt compared to a my main is quite extreme. I have no problem with competition, as long as there is an even playing field... there just isnt anything close atm with many classes, with different aspects of the game.

    You clearly missed the times when I asked for wiz burn to be boosted during VoA, or when I asked for monks to gain dps as they were lacklustre. I'm also not afraid to comment when I think something is overpowered, but no, that doesn't just mean asking to nerf other classes. Maybe you missed the times when I've proved things that were broken, and by getting them fixed nerfed my own class (rogs gained more flurry than any other class from bard bug as we had lowest innate flurry rate).

    Now when it's my own class which is weak and in need of attention, I'm hypocritical for asking for a boost?

    As for what's good for the game, well there are some specialist classes (pure tanks, pure healers, pure dps) and some jack of all trades (the hybrids). Whenever a pure class falls behind a hybrid, or a hybrid pulls ahead if that's what happens, then the game is broken and needs fixing.

    Similarly the pure dps are meant to be largely interchangeable with each other. When that gets too far out of skew, the game is also broken. Clearly everyone shouldn't be equal in all scenarios are that's just BORING. However there needs to be a strong mix so everyone has a chance at least of coming top and no one class should have an "I WIN" button that guarantees their dominance.
