Where was this door was suppose to lead? The image on the door is rough, but looks kind of like a boat in the center?
Twilight Sea maybe? It is kind of on the opposite side of the moon but would sort of make sense that Katta established a trade route of some kind to Shadowhaven.
It might have been the door to the old Baz. Not sure if there was a transition time where you could use both or if all the sudden they just opened up the new one.
There was however for a time the Bazaar and the Barter Hall. The zones looked identical, but one handled the All the Bazaar stuff and the other zone handled all of the Barter stuff. It was only later that they got rid of the Barter Hall and just had the Bazaar in one section and the Barter Hall in the other section of the same zone. The door in question was the zone between the Barter Hall and the Bazaar.
I don't remember the barter hall and bazaar ever being different, since the barter was created. When the bazaar was first created, it also connected to an arena. The bazaar overhaul removed the arena (and of course the access). The current arena was created due to player request, and the access made in POK.
Huh? The Arena zone predates the Bazaar. The Rathetear Arena is a 1999-era zone, if it wasn't there at launch, it was soon thereafter.
The barter hall was it's own zone for a brief period of time. The zone appears to be removed from ZAM but I found a merchant with the defunct zone. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=18105
There are some doors, on second level, of guild hall that could ne opened up for new areas. Maybe a training ground ?
I think it's more likely that it's an artifact left over from the old days when they were still doing expansions that were single zones. A place they had intended to place a single zone as an update but never got around to doing it. There are several such places in EQ.
