Best reasonable bow/arrow just for range - tank pulling

I read where a good bow and arrow can have a range way longer than my SK spells which have a base of 200.

<Range = Bow Range plus Arrow Range so 220 range plus 150 range is 370 range, MUCH farther than mage wizard bolt spells like twice the distance>

Is there a way for a level 69 SK to get a bow and arrows that approach this kind of range? What about at higher levels?

This is purely for pulling, so damage doesn't matter.

Also, can SKs level fletching without spending a ton of AAs?

Stonewood Compound Bow (Fletching, 335 trivial, Minimum Skill Required 220)

might check the bazaar for this bow some use it to POW flagging
    Stonewood Compound Bow its 220
Recommended level of 63. Required level of 61.
WT: 3.0 Range: 220 Size: LARGE
Class: WAR PAL RNG SHD ROG

    Thanks! That looks great.

Now I just need to find some long range arrows.

Can SKs (easily or at all) get that infinite quiver where one arrow lasts forever?

that's a ranger aa for the quiver.

    >that's a ranger aa for the quiver.

Can an SK easily do the fletching to get the long range arrows, then?

Since I'm just using them for pulling, I don't need a ton of them.

What is the best long range arrow for that?

I guess I can get a friend to make them if they are high level.

Honestly? You may as well just skill up Fletching to make them yourself. Eventually (as in, some 35-40 levels from now) you are going to want to get all your tradeskills to 300 anyway, for the best aug in the game.

Fletching is not an expensive skill to level up, not for the range you need. Simply follow the components, as they trivial out on you, for the arrows. Eventually you will be making arrows with Small Nocks and Ceramic Vanes. I believe that those two in conjunction will have the highest range? If that’s too much for a pulling tool, simply use one expensive part (Ceramic Vanes?) and the other three use the cheap 5 copper starter pieces.

Even if nothing else, the simple arrows made with the 4 cheapest components along with a decent bow will get you plenty of pulling range.

I use them with raid now and pull range is plenty

The best arrow would be the Ancient Arrow with a range of 125 and highest damage in the game. Most rangers only have to buy or make one since they are perfect for endless quiver. However you, as an SK, will need to make many or hope someone dumps some in the baz for cheap. They are fairly easy to make with a triv of 300 ish.

    Bundled wooden arrow shafts: 5cp
    Field point arrowheads: 5cp
Several parabolic cut fletchings: 2sp 6cp
    Small groove nocks: 4sp 1cp

Total 7.7sp yields 5 arrows so about 15 cp per arrow. Trivial 56.

Arrows are dmg 1, 150 range.
Can carry components stacked to 1000 and make arrows whenever needed.

Good chunk of stat loss changing ranged from a stat item to a bow. I guess you could make a macro to swap the bow/item after you shot/pulled w/ the bow.

Thanks for all the great tips!
It's time to farm some mats.

Tower of rot clicky, instant cast use from bag dont need to swap items around or waste a bandolier slot

While true in older expansions, it is no longer true. Bows have been equal (or better) stats for the classes that can use them for a handful of expansions now.

    item name?

Does this have a long range? Otherwise, I'm not sure how it applies to this thread.

With it you don't need ammo, has a 200 range and usable from inventory.
