No, not anymore. Warriors used to have an edge over Knights when tanking Raid Bosses, it's barely the case anymore. You could do current raids with 0 warrior and only knights and you would be fine.
Yes. With the right ADPS / healing you feel great. The layering of defensive abilities is technically interesting and predicting what abilities you need to save adds depth to the class.
