Beastlord AA suggestions.

    There was a post I was browsing in the old forums that was originally posted by Apex (and if someone saved it and would re-post it to this thread, that would be awesome, as I forgot to) about Beastlord AA suggestions. I have some thoughts on the ideas posted, as well as some suggestions of my own.

    Hastened Kolos' Fury - I would love to see Kolos' fury down to 12 minutes, but if that happens, I'd like to see BA and Savage Fury dropped down as well - more full burns more often would be awesome.

    Hastened Warder's Gift - Someone had said said on the previous thread 60 seconds would be too often, and I kind of agree, since I've seen this crit heal before for (if I recall correctly) around 100k. It's extremely nice in a pinch, but I wouldn't want to come to rely on it.

    Fade - I don't see us getting a fade, especially since we (rather recently in EQ terms) got FD, unless we got something similar to imitate death. I'd like to see more improvements on Playing Possum as was suggested.

    MGB KF - Again, I don't see this happening, and I'm not sure it would be that useful anyway, due to the fact that VoA raids seem to be highly anti-burn to begin with. If that trend continues, having to pick between an MGB KF and an MGB Para would be a pretty tough call.

    AA Sha's - YES.

    On the subject of blunt weapons - it really feels like the devs want to take us in the direction of using the h2h weapons, the dps ratio is better on h2h and I've always been a fan of lower delay weapons to begin with. I agree, though, with the proper AAs to offset it, I wouldn't mind seeing us get 1hb weapons again either, especially if they vamped up the damage on our own 1hb weapons to match what we're getting now.

    A couple suggestions for new AAs:

    Mana is probably one of our biggest crutches, and I would mind seeing us getting our own version of Canni to help offset it, especially since we would be able to tap Warder's Gift for the lost hitpoints. Or, someone had mentioned a version of Focused Paragon that would hit us and another target - my suggestion would be that, if that route was taken to make the self-hitting effect of focused paragon a recourse of casting it on a target - so we hit our target, and get hit with the recourse effect - or hit ourselves, and get focused para + focused para recourse. Either of these would be a major help in offsetting our mana burns.

    I have a feeling that even with the proper AAs in place, switching to 1hb might lower our overall dps due to the increase in delay (again, huge fan of the fast h2h weapons). However, I would love to see this offset with a chance to proc a hundred hands effect similar to how rogues get them for piercing weapons.

    I've also felt that we should have an opportunity to get a Focus of Arcanum, too, to capitalize on our spell damage during a full fledged burn - I feel like it's kind of overlooked in favor of our melee damage, but as a hybrid class, we should be given the opportunity to increase spell damage too. If not FoA, then perhaps a short duration large bonus to poison / cold spell damage would be nice too.

    Lastly, I'd like to see a rework of Gelid Claw. People have said that there's no way to turn it off, but others have said they'd like to see it on 1hb weapons. What about changing it into a self only permanent buff, similar to how Sionache's Crescendo works for a bard, or how our werewolf illusion works? That way we could get the best of both worlds at a minor inconvenience of having to rebuff it when we zone or die.

    Hastened Nature's salve would be awesome, especially during raids. I would also suggest that, since it's highly unlikely that they're going to switch us back to 1hb, I'd like to see some more block / damage mitigation added to h2h. I was rather disappointed switching from HoT to VoA, I feel like in group HoT gear I was performing better tanking mobs than I am in raid gear tanking mobs in VoA.

    I'm not entirely ready to give up on 1HB specialization...yet...I keep asking!

    I do however like the idea of Hastened Fury. Dropping it to 12 minutes is a pipe dream from sure (dare to dream!), however I think a more viable way would be a 30 second reduction per AA.

    bringing fury in line with our other discs for refresh seems easy enough. an AA slow would also be nice since 85% of the time id rather just not slow than lose a spell slot.

    but the thing i really want to see is a buff that either makes me have alot of agro or one that makes me have alot less agro. i refuse to spend on subtlety AA since i mostly tank when im grouping. but then in the rare occurence when im not tanking then its hard to manage my agro. a buff like our pets have seems like an easy solution. tanking buff, or dps buff.

    earlier i saw someone mention geldid claw, i didnt understand what issue you were having with it if you could elaborate.

    The solution is fairly simple for ganking agro. I have a hot key set up for this. It's a FD key followed immediately by a stand up command. As well, roar of thunder, chameleon strike and Gorilla Smash work wonders in a gank agro situation.

    I actually had thought about that (this is why I wish I took more notes, I forgot to mention this in my initial suggestions) and came up with an idea - two different frozen cyanin type spells on the same timer. One with more hate, and one with a jolt / hate reduction component. That way, we could swap out the necessary spell in our lineup for what purpose we had in mind.

    I had seen someone saying on Apex's previous thread that if we were to go back to 1hb, we would want Gelid Claw to be applicable on our 1hb weapons, but I saw other people suggesting that this was a way that we could disable it, in the case of not wanting to deal cold damage / have the debuff stick on a mob for whatever reason. Making it work as a buff instead of an innate would allow us to have more control over it, that way it could be extended to work on 1hb and we could simply click it off if the need arises.

    Long as you don't use any of our combat abilities since all are based on a H2H skill. in other words autoattack only

    That would be AMAZING. That and a way to guarantee procing the 4 swarm pets for 2-3 casts.

    Few things here, I like the idea of having a buff to either increase or decrease aggro for ourselves... It wouldn't be anything too radical since we have the spells already to either make our pet do more damage or mitigate better.

    I'd like for Gelid to be "optional" as well although it's pretty rare that I don't want it running. On the same token I am divided if I would want to be dealing with another buff to manage this.

    I'd like a hastening line for our various pet buff AA's, reduction in recast by whatever percent or even remove recast timer entirely. This is more about the times when I die on raids and want to refresh pet quickly, it's lame to not be able to recast these things and there would be no instance of being overpowered if they were all instantly reusable in my opinion (Hobble, Taste of Blood and the like), exception here would be the healing AA's.

    AA Sha's would be excellent, it's another thing where loading the actual spell for this takes away a spell slot but if it were available as an AA it would be very useful.

    I'd like for Focused Paragon to include some endurance regen, would add usefulness for helping recently rezzed tanks and whatnot. I also like the idea of adding a recourse to Focused that lands back on the casting Beastlord.

    I will never purchase Spell Casting Sublety either, mostly due to the fact that when I am not in raids I want the maximum possible aggro available to me.

    I'm sure I will think of some other things once I have a couple cups of coffee but it's early for me right now.

    I'd still like to see some sort of burst-like ability, even if nothing big.
    How about furious swipes: adds an accuracy mod to feral swipe for a set duration, like 5 ticks.
    Animists fury: adds damage to all nukes cast for 10 ticks. (or just make it a twincast effect for 5 ticks).
    Extended bloodlust would be neat.
    Time to get those last few ideas together for next weeks upcoming dev AA chat I think....

    Another Rank on Hastened Empathic Fury (From 14min to 12min. It'd match frenzy of spirit reuse)
    Another 1-2 Ranks on Bestial Bloodrage
    Another Rank on Hastened Bite of Asp, Raven's Claw, Gorilla Smash
    Another Rank on Chameleon Strike
    Another Rank on Extended Feralgia
    Another Rank on First, Second and Third Spire
    Another 3 Ranks on Gelid Rending - Added Ranks Proc off Blunt Weapons
    Another Rank on Group Bestial Alignment

    AA version of Sha's Reprisal spell, maybe insta cast.
    AA version of Celerity. handy to cast a mana free haste after just been rezzed.
