Bag not showing on screen

With the latest patch and the way it screwed up layouts, one of my bags doesn't show on the screen. I have checked this multiple times and it must be popping somewhere that I can't see. I think this has been mentioned before but I can't find the post that will manually move the bag into the visible area on the screen. So...smarter folks than me. How do I get it back?

I am using a mostly default UI.

It's not hiding behind your inventory maybe?

That is usually what happens to me it end up behind something.

It is not. I still have a very vague memory (cue jokes) about this issue sometime in the dim ages of EQ history.

You can look at the character UI file and DELETE the entry of which bag slot is not showing.

First, make sure you make a copy of the UI file and move it somewhere else ... just to be safe.

Search for the word bag in the UI file. If it's a "bad" inventory slot that's giving problems, the entry will look like:
[BagInv6]
INIVersion=1
FirstTimeAlert=0
XPosWindowed=1993
...
with a bunch of other stuff. BagInv# is the bag in inventory slot #. Log out of the account, delete the entry (basically everything until you hit the next [xxxxxx] text. Log back in and check.

If it's a bank or shared bank slot, it will say something like that instead of Inv.

Note that the entries in the UI file are not in any order so you may need to search for a bit (which is why I recommend finding on the bag term and move down the list until you get to the right one).

Maybe your wife did put the bag away because it was full of ale ?

First remember if it was an inventory or bank bag.
Then search the character UI.ini file for "baginv" or "bagbank" !

Then search for XPos and YPos if you play in fullscreen mode !
Search for XPosWindowed and YPosWindowed if you play in windowed mode !
Make sure that it has the right screen resolution.

Then search for unusual high or negative values there ! Rince and repeat for all bag entries until you found the right one !

Then replace the values with new ones ! XPos 0 and YPos 0 will let the bag appear in the upper left corner.

Did you get your bag back, Nennius ?

Collect 10 shiny balls that are in nearby forests.

Not yet. The computer glitch today has altered my schedule a bit. I will try and get it back in a few hours.

Might be a worthless suggestion, but if you play at a lower resolution (say 800x600) then try to go to a higher resolution. Maybe the bag is off screen but choosing a higher resolution will bring it to view.

Not worthless at all. I was at a higher resolution, but on a whim I changed it to a lower one and then back again and I could see a tiny bit of the bag and moved it back to where it belonged.

Interesting idea but it could screw the UI even more. Not sure on that.
