Augs/items in anniv tower

The tower is going away at the end of the year which is going to do a lot to solve that issue and I don't think it will be upgraded for newer expansions.
  2. Randomized Augur

You can only replay the same game for 25 years before you want to add a little spice to it

Ah I was just speaking generally, not so much for the tower itself.

Yeah, the players are yawing for new content which does mean that the Teek players would be better playing on live servers. I cannot take them serious. I think that the small expansions with recycled content are a major factor for the TLP phenomenon. Most TLP players seem to be also playing on live servers until june, then swapping over to the latest TLP server until december when the next small expansion does get released. 1/2 year live server + 1/2 year TLP server.
  4. Randomized Augur

TLP players aren't looking for new content when they stick to the same 5-6 expansion game.

Adding a new seasoning each time I cook chicken doesn't mean I'm "yawning for a new meal". I enjoy my chicken, I just want it to be slightly different than it was last time.

Which is also new content. Similar to EoK, RoS, ToV, CoV, ToL, NoS, but less extraordinary. It is like repeating the same song over and over with different instruments and singers. Cover versions for TLP and live servers. LS was the first new album (not really) since eight years which many of the TLP players enjoyed. So they are after new content, but as the expansions are to small, many players decide to play on TLP until the next release which is sad. TLP and live are like The Broken Mirror. Dead side (TLP) and live side (live). Maybe that is why so many TLP players do enjoy Lower Guk ... dead side, live side. ;)

Not so sure. Regarding the tower missions:

The anniversary tower could remain until the 2025 anniversary event is over but it could also vanish in january 2025. Both is possible. And it could reappear with each anniversary event, or just every five years from 2024 on, for big events. It is very unlikely that it will vanish forever with so much dev time being put in. They are currently optimizing it and removing all bugs. The aug 7/8 lore group revamp does also only make sense for a long time strategy. I am also pretty sure that they will add lvl 130 and 135 tasks and rewards when the time is right.

Content is things like new places, new quests, new mobs, new items, new raid encounters.
Free trade is not new content.
  9. Iven Suggestions Bard

Hair splitting again ? New mechanics are also new content: Randomized loot, encounter locking. Not totally new, but still new to many players.
  10. Randomized Augur

    No...just no.

They could add those "mechanics" to LS on live and there would be absolutely no new content added

Content is not limited to new places, new quests, new mobs, new items, and new raid encounters. Random loot can make items accessible that would not be otherwise, or much harder. Basically we are talking about hardware and software which both are content. The software is just more difficult to recognize. I just do enjoy doing the anniversary tower tasks, which somehow got made easier, which is also new content for me, by attunement and doability.

Accessibility can also unlock more content which is very similar to adding new content. Many stuff in the game (ressources !) is locked behind accessibility. Quests and monster missions than can only be done at a certain level range or with a good RL player crew. I am looking forward for doing the fixed Befallen instanced mission this week, and I hope that my lowbies have not outleveled the max level cap already. Else I would have to do them with another lowbie team.
  12. Randomized Augur

    Accessibility is also not content.

FV server does not have "more" content simply being a free trade server compared to another server like Cazic.

Everyone gets the same amount of content. How much of that content you access is another discussion

They have posted that it is ending in January of 2025.

The tower is going away at that time but may come back for future anniversary periods like other anniversary content.

The note from Ngreth is just how the damage scaling will work in that mission in higher level expansions.

They have posted in patch notes that it goes away in January 2025

Accessibility does decide how much content the players do receive. Therefore nobody does get the same amount of content. The FV server does grant much more accessibility than other servers, only because it has free trade. You can easily roll a lvl 10 character with 1,000 HP there, when being new to the server. All in all the game has more than enough content, but the accessibility is the problem. And to find a sweet spot where content is neither trivial or to difficult. About 95% of overall content is not in that sweet spot and getting worse at the level cap.

You can deny that this or that is not content as long as you want, but it does not change the fact that players do have a lack of content because of accessiblity and that tiny sweet spot at the level cap. Increasing the level cap with each second expansion is making that even worse. The huge level cap increase of five levels is also furthering that. Make it three expansion and with a smaller level cap increase (3) instead. Or a level cap increase by 1 level with each new expansion which would provide a better design flow. New expansions and their NPCs do have to get designed harder anyways.
  16. Randomized Augur

    Incorrect

It decides how much of the content you consume.

We both order a 16 ounce steak (Laurions Song).
    I eat all 16 ounces
    You eat 12 ounces

Just because I consumed more does not mean I received more. We received the same amount of content

    Major difference
  17. Iven Suggestions Bard

No, we both had access to 16 ounces. You just consumed more content.
  18. Randomized Augur

    Precisely
  19. Iven Suggestions Bard

Your statements are contradictory because first you state that accessibility decides how much of the content you consume, then you agree with me that accessibility has no influence on the consume.
  20. Randomized Augur

You don't even know what it is you're saying.

The end result remains the same. The amount of content does not change regardless of how fast or how little you consume it.
