We have downed the Droga raid, attempted Grikor twice with bringing him to 85%. Currently working on either downing TBL content or breaking through TOV content. We have seen quite a few people come back which is very nice.
After raiding on blue the past 5 years I came back after seeing the post here that Ascending Dawn was active. Having a good time. Lots of people from long ago have returned. Group-wise its an awesome server for main clerics. Those days on Blue of 4+ hours CLERIC LFG are finished. The server has an interesting dynamic. One night a week the two main guilds, Ascending Dawn and PRTS put aside their differences to raid together so combined there is a decent sized force. Together, we're starting to raid into current content.
We still recruiting more players on ZeK, population has been increasing with many returning players coming back, we have exp groups going all night long. Looking for a couple more healers, and some more dsp classes for Raid. However all spots are still open atm. Come join us as we tackle ToV and TBL Raids. We also raiding older content (RoF, CoTF, TDS, and EoK) for achievements, spells, ornaments, and specialty items. Returning player from 2007 this is a great family oriented guild. Friendly players willing to help new and returning players with grouping, quests and progression. It can be quite overwhelming for the new or returning player, but I have had a wonderful time grouping, leveling and gearing all the way from L85 to L115, with some raiding in between. I would highly recommend anyone considering a guild to give them a shot.

Your experience on Zek will vary widely depending on what class you decide to bring to it and what your goals are. If you don't want to join a guild there, and just move a few alts over and gank everyone, never make friends, never be part of any team or do anything what so ever to improve the server by supporting one of it's guilds, Zek has had enough of those players and there are those types on Zek still. And overall, you will find that goal and playstyle much less fulfilling than team PvP play. So fair warning, there are people here with their main #1 ranked magelo chars full raiding on blue and they are simply on Zek just to kill people. They are part of no guild and never will be. They already completed everything in the CoV expansion on blue with their main alt and box alts(for buffs) and are only here to gank people, usually in the dirtiest(for them, sneakiest "i'm so smart," ways) So join one of the sizeable guilds like Ascending Dawn immediately on transfer for a much more enjoyable experience than you would otherwise have with no support while you are feeling it out self buffed. There are just a few classes considered as Teir 1 PvP classes, these are generally the classes that have an ability to do more damage in a single nuke, dot tick, or melee hit than 100% of your or anyone else's life. Or they have abilities which can hit for higher than 40%(What use to be the Gold Standard limit) of someones life in a single hit, dot crit or DD. New Teir 1 PvP classes to Zek will find their character class may already be in abundance on the server. After awhile they might discover many of the others of that class are simple alt geared One-Shot-One-minute of glory toons. First, they, even if a fully raid geared character, may find themselves getting killed all over the place by far lesser geared characters of their own class. They might take this as a challenge, get a lot of practice and eventually become one of the best at that class over time considering their gear advantage will then have an effect or they may be coming back with already having experience from the past(Welcome Back, kind of). Often times however, most of these classes are a dime a dozen or have been in the past, and the only times you feel appreciated are when you are backing up others in PvP. You may, in some cases, find you don't even help augment any raid force on Zek as your class is already a large percentage of the entire player base there. Currently however, there are very few Necromancers or Shadowknight Mains playing on the server at this time. With Necromancer arguable as to whether its teir 1 or 2. Teir 2 PvP class players of new characters coming to Zek have a lot of opportunity. For some of these classes there are only 1 or 2 current players on Zek of that class. You will find you are a high valued member of your class, to your guild and to the server. If you do well in PvP some people who have an alt in that same class might try it again, or even if their main use to be the class they see you playing and doing well, might even give it another try again. PvP will be very challenging, but when you get kills it will also give you a sense of "i earned it!" and these classes are the ones that have faded over the years, some fluctuating in and out of existence from 0 to 2 or 1 of any of them as mains of that character class on Zek. Character classes extremely lacking on Zek: Bard: 2 active mains on the entire server. Beastlord: 1 active main on the entire server. Cleric: 0 active mains on the entire server. for many years Berzerker: 0 active mains on the entire server. Enchanter: 2 active mains on the entire server. Magician: 1 semi-active main on the entire server. Monks: 2 active mains on the entire server. Paladin: 1 active main on the entire server. Shaman: 0 active mains on the entire server. for several years Wizard: 2 active mains on the entire server. Edit(NEW): The above class numbers only reflect level 115 character mains who either ever get a killshot in PvP or who's names are seen as having been killed via Zek's zonewide PvP announcment system and does not include non level 115's or players on the server who do not PvP or are virtually never found in any open zone. Shamans, Clerics, and perhaps even Bards and Paladins would be considered as T3 PvP classes(solely based on their ability to get a fast kill or kill steal). With perhaps the exception of Paladin as they do have some PvP stuffs that can one round(gank) people. You may find playing one of the classes listed above as an extremely welcomed and, if given enough time, rewarding experience. You could also find it extremely frustrating as playing one of these classes and being successful in PvP is very difficult considering the adversaries you are likely to meet in Zek's current population and the likelihood of being targeted first in group vs group PvP. It really depends on how much effort you put in to it or practice you have had in the past and how much support you are able to receive from a guild when you get there. For me, as a Monk player, I have found the PvP play on Zek to be one of the funnest gaming experiences bar none. Nearly every time I have died(hundreds of deaths) I immediately think, crap, if i had done this instead of that I woulda survived! As is such with many of the classes here. But altogether, the server needs more of these limited classes and playing any one of them will set you apart from the crowd, especially if you are actively engaging in PvP and getting kills on a class few currently play or that many on the server have rarely seen be successful over the recent years. Any group, guild or friends you join will value you tremendously and perhaps even more so than you might find or have so far experienced anywhere else in all of Everquest. *Note: A sizeable percentage of Zek's playerbase past/present has always consisted of players who have/had no interest in PvP or participating in PvPing, but they still enjoyed the server for other reasons. reply edited for context of PvP class variety you might find

I have listed the classes we are most interested in. 3 more Shadow Knights 3 more Pallys 1 Enchanter 1 Cleric 4 more DPS classes (Wiz, Bez, Mage, Rogue, Bst) Here in AD, we're more of a family oriented guild helping one another alone the way with experiencing the game together though leveling, gearing, progression, achievements and raiding. We do welcome boxers to come and have boxers in the guild, but also encouraged grouping members over boxed characters when we can, to promote a more family style atmosphere. We do not have the same version as the guild above. We don't believe in this 2 guild PvP. Do we PvP? Yes we do, but our first and main goal here in AD, is to RAID. I want to make that very clear, we're a raiding guild here to raid. Does that mean we never PvP? Of course not, we do. But we pick and choose when we PvP, and balance it against what we need to accomplish to move forward with raiding. Many people ask why we play on a PvP server. The best answer to that is because its the most realistic way to play the game, and we want that sense of excitement knowing that at anytime, someone can come in and attack you, changing up that boring PvE aspect of the game with a little excitement. Does that mean we feel we have to kill everyone that's not in our guild just because we can. Absolutely not. We have broken the guild down into to groups, those that want to PvP and those that don't. If you want to PvP, that's find as you can see above, the other guild will provide you with all the PvP you want. If you don't that's fine also. But I'm here to recruit players interested in raiding. Most of our support classes don't want to PvP anymore, mainly because Daybreak refuses to fix a broken system. As far as what classes we have. We have 4 main clerics, that's the only class they play just for raids. 3 geared Warriors for our main tanks. Would I like more, of course we can always replace some box clerics with main ones etc., etc. We have around 48 active players in the guild. Our raids are filling up to 54, 38 being main players and around16 been boxed. We are now looking to replace those boxed characters with mains. We aren't just interested in beating the raids, but owning the raids and all the achievements that come with it and having fun doing it. If this sounds like something your interested in, then AD is the place for you. Currently our raids can consist of any of the following, depending on what our raid force looks like and what's not locked. CoTF, TBM, EoK, TBL (Stratos), GMM, ToV (EW), and CoV (Zland).
