I have been camping Assasin Thale and Ocean Mage Rettun trying to get the Hunter acheivement for Sarith, City of Tides for the last 3 days for about 3 - 4 hours at a time and they have never popped, the other names in the zone seem to pop quite regularly, has anyone else had them pop recently ? Sarith named are painful. I remember camping some of the Sarith mobs for weeks when VoA was current. The Life Knight and that darn squid The Kraken were the worst for me. Sarith has all single PHs for named, and at least at the time there was a theory that the spawning of these named assumed there were 3 PHs, so they spawn 1/3 as often. I don't know if that is true, but they are very annoying to spawn. Good luck!
They certainly are painful, spent another 6 hours there again yesterday evening and still neither of them showed, think I will move on and come back to these two later.
Sarith is the single worst place to camp names outside of the ancient expansions. They have 1 ph and a super low spawn rate. It's something you do while doing something else outside of EQ. Kill the ph, AFK for 20 min, etc. Expect this to take days.
That is what I did, caught up on a few films I had been meaning to watch. Amazingly though, I logged in yesterday and Ocean Mage Rettun was up, I then killed Assasin Thale PH 2 times and then he popped too, Happy Camper. Thanks to Axxius and Eaiana for the inspiration to keep going
