Are Teek Starting Areas Dead?

Discussion in 'Time Locked Progression Servers' started by Feldwebel87, Jun 22, 2024.

Just started playing again, and I made an Iksar monk. The starting area seemed really dead. Am I too late to have fun?

Qeynos starting area is not bustling anymore but that is expected. I could form a group for wst karana bandits though and had a blast with my paladin

Do check /pick in case you are in a pick with low pop.

Nah, though I do think a lot of the lower level zones are going to be less busy. But groups will be more available as you get through the very low levels.

You're also posting this at 3AM, which isn't the busiest time of the day :)

It takes only a few hours to move past the starting area. Besides, leveling to 10-15 has always been more of a solo activity. You'll find groups after that.

Zoned out of Neriak and buffed a few little one today, 5 or 6. In contrast Crushbone was heaving when I went to level my baby wood elf.

They are around, but not as many as there were at launch...you may find mobs to kill now. :)

    Thanks all!

Whoa, if your soloing to 15, I dunno what to tell ya...that's just crazy.

No, you will want to group at lvl 5+ it is exponentially faster than soloing, even for a mage.

    For the OP

I recently started a new guy in Kelethin, and Gfay was pretty busy. Get to 10-12 and go to unrest, its still busy with over 10 picks last time I was there.

The new server lowbie fun only lasts for a couple months.

People are working on their 2-5th alts by now.

Many bypass the extreme low levels with easy powerlevel.

    Then start grouping around 15-30

Some who hate to level just buy PL services and skip it all together.

Did you check to see if you were in a pick with few players?
  11. Laronk Augur

Part of the problem might be the time you're playing at you also have to check the /pick.

For example last night when I was playing at 10pm there was still a bunch of druids lfg when i did a / all druid lfg but at 1:30am when I tried to find a replacement there was 2 druids in my level range lfg.
Also Field of bone doesn't end up all packed on the ramp and just because no one answers your lfg call doesn't mean that there isn't people playing.. Just start killing say lfg every once in a while and then if you see anyone lfg grab them.

    1-30?
Pretty much. Unless you goto the best zone for that level.
Also, likely to be a camper on named mobs.

Like if you goto Najena, there will be people, but they aint there to group. Good place to get upgrades from those people letting stuff rot though if you broke and not sure how to make plat and what not.

Server is on raiding schedules now, so they looking to spend minimal time at 1-30, because why smell the roses at those levels? The time to smell roses on those levels was weeks and you missed that.

If you here to smells roses at 1-30, you missed that.
Join the group, within a couple hours you be 31.

This server is heavy guild focused just other servers too. This game is heavy guild focused. Heavy group focused too.

Doing this, not going to solve issue of starting areas are dead.

    Tormax and Teek same progression,
the starting cities empty, yeah, why. No one smelling for weeks, its time to do other stuff.

If your gig was to smell roses in starting areas, thats over with.
Tons of twink geared, tons of cheap gear selling too. Cheap to be twinked. This server has too much loot going. Stuff rotting if you goto the popular areas for farming nameds. The scraps are pretty good.

Guilds want you to be 60, so they can do raids easier, not stay in starter zones and smells roses for weeks.

lol all that server rivalry going on and a month in people are already complaining about dead starting areas.
  17. Feldwebel87 Lorekeeper

I started a cleric and there were plenty of people around Gfay, but it's not what I expected. People passing by gave me free gear like they were passing out candy. The low level characters near me ALL had plenty of plat and the best gear they could find.

I am disappointed. I am debating heading to Project Quarm.

    Fixed that for you.
  19. Fhiele Augur

Definately not. Plenty of people levelling up, although the very first levels are, as others have said, normally solo. You should find people to group with in the Pit and then later in Kurns as your Iksar.

I mean, you did miss the bus by about a month. Folks you saw in Gfay now were likely all alts, well supplied by their mains. BTW I dabbled on Al Kabor, mostly to see what it was all about. Most of the other newbs I ran into there were also twinked, and I was given some free gear as well. Those servers are even older and more established than Teek, and will have the same issues of well funded twinks.
