Aradune -- nothing in patch notes

Wrong decision. The 4+ hour queues are already splitting the player base- those paying subscribers who are able to play, and those who cannot. If four+ hour queues are required to maintain stability, then splitting the population between two servers (which can later be merged back into one) will PRESERVE the player base. The queues have already caused many to leave the server and the franchise behind.

Seems like the plan is to do nothing until enough people stop paying so that the queue goes away on its I guess. Cause right now the assumption seems to be that people are just going to quit anyway so it's not worth fixing, not an attitude I am surprised with but maybe not the best one for a for-profit company to take.

They are probably looking at ragefire/lockjaw as a metric. Man that was a dumpster fire. Adding an additional server was horrible.

I'm kind of curious about the focus from DPG (well, you and Dreamweaver) when describing the problems as server crashes instead of latency (and the pop-cap instituted to mitigate latency).

If by server crashes you mean that instances of your database-access system starts crashing when there are too many simultaneous requests, resulting in massive latency on networked operations like chat/zoning, that'd make a lot more sense.

How is this not the top priority? How is that we are about a month in and we are in the same place as launch? Everyone that's in the queue are more people not buying bags, xp pots, krono, etc. Your excuses never have any real context other then we are monitoring the situation.

If you launch a second server with the stated intent that it will be merged back into Aradune as soon as feasible and plan that server around that reality I don't see how it could be any worse than what is going on now. Keep the new server on the same unlock schedule as Aradune and make the char creation check for duplicate names there and against Aradune for ease of merging later.

Any plan to implement some kind of kick timer on the character select screen even if the user is not idle? Also can we divert some of the GM resources to instead just go after people using autoclickers to bypass the AFK kick timer, these are currently more harmful to server health than someone 3boxing.

Spoilers: The level 1s spamming courage/inner fire/skin like wood for 3 hours aren't raising their abjuration.

So DPG is monitoring server queues, but not doing anything. Anyone can watch the queues... What do they do? Look and say "Oh yeah, 4 hour queues, that sucks. I'll keep watching!"

This is very disappointing tbh but it sounds like with the crash fixes I'll be able to keep my accounts permanently logged in for the next 30 days till hopefully fixes/changes come in July. I think ya'll know that it's going to keep getting worse before it gets better and that's disappointing. The queue has been steadily getting worse over the last week as more and more people have learned to circumvent the queue because at this point it's a necessity if you wish to raid during normal raid hours.

I hope I'm not punished for speaking the truth but I feel it needs to be shared. I guess the hope is that enough people unsub at the one month point that the queue's go away. Sad

    "continue to monitor carefully"
Um, what does that even mean? To monitor means to watch - so point and laugh?

I get people being upset because they spent money on the subscription but to believe that the company isn't working to fix the problem is unreasonable.

I've been saying this too. They cashed in on the initial launch of the TLPs and are taking a wait it out approach until it resolves itself. They know the population on these servers crash after a month or so typically and they are praying that will be the case here as well.

The problem will solve itself over time.

so this is basically a green light for auto clickers .

That's a lot of text for "we fixed absolutely nothing, thanks for paying for the game you can't play."

What exactly will you be monitoring? What queue length would make you guys open up another server? 10 hours+, 12+ hours of waiting time?

I'm sorry to say it but this is simply not acceptable. There should be consequences for providing such abhorrently bad service.

...why would they create a 3rd server when people can just come to Rizlona...?

The insane queue splits the playerbase. Releasing a new TLP every year splits the playerbase.

You don't seem to have any problems splitting the playerbase.

Welcome to the Everquest forums, or any game forum really, where people automatically assume the absolute worst about the company while simultaneously assuming the worst about anyone trying to be reasonable individuals too.

Well if there is a 4 hour queue tonight and into the weekend you will not have to worry about a second server or server stability issue.
Most people's subscriptions are coming due and you will see a mass exodus from Aradune. This will hurt Aradune and your company more then two Aradune servers would have. You could have merged servers later when the populations went down instead you went with the easy option, which is doing the cheapest thing you could do to maintain profit, not maintain customer's.
