https://eqresource.com/ has guides for House of Thule and later, while https://everquest.allakhazam.com/ goes a bit further back(to Seeds of Destruction). My own recommendation is to look at the in-game achievement(/ach) window for each expansion and just do everything, as that will give you "hero"-AAs as well(+ other achievement related goodies) For pre-SoD, Keying-quests also delivers a bit of lore, for example https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4364 and https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=4344 However you will have to look them up yourself, a good place to start is Zam's overview of zones: the locked zone overview often contains a link to the key-quest. Earlier expansions are a bit more of "disjointed sandboxes", I don't really know alot about those, maybe you can cherry-pick quests from the "hero's journey" achievement? earlier than that, you are on your own and will have to manually search through old articles on ZAM. The old epic1, epic1.5, epic2, etc, should also contain some lore, If you haven't done them yet, I don't know your level. Another suggestion, is to look in your AA-window, and lookup those "progression-AAs" in the "special"-pane, there is probably some related storyline for them?
Some of the monster missions like "Fall of an Empire" or the Dain ones are interesting lore-wise to see more of the backstory of how the game world was made. Unfortunately, they are also monster missions.
