Any plans for another Phinny server?

When Phinny launched, I didn't realize that all the old stuff would be back - original CT, original PoM, drops that were once removed from the game, and so on, so I didn't participate at server launch. At this point, the server is already on the verge of some changes I believe with Velious around the corner, no?

So are there any plans to launch a 'second Phinny'? A true box, true original EQ server sounds like a lot of fun. And if the plat farmers could be controlled, FV rules sound neat too.

Not likely anytime soon since they have 3 new TLPs out right now. I'd say you'd be looking around 1-2 years before they consider a new one but with this new Quarm server they may do something with that in future events although it will be short term.

We're already in Velious. You got 3 months until Luclin hits then probably another 5+ till PoP.

Just take the leap and join.

IMO, it will be a lot longer than that. In a year, I don't think we'll quite have seen Gates of Discord (and I fully expect them to separate GOD and OOW). The schedule beyond that isn't out, so it's hard to say where we'll be in 2 years.

Yeah I really don't see them releasing anything similar to Phinigel for very long time, especially with how recently we had Ragefire and Lockjaw it really does feel like they only just came out.

TLR you missed pretty much nothing and you gonna wait prolly a year if not more (unless interested in Quarm) waiting for "The next big thing TLP"

Another Phinny server would kill this one as it did with RF & LJ, just jump on this one, you are not missing much yet, take a month leveling up and you have catched up, wait till luclin and you are missing out on AA.

There are definitely plans for more, you can see that every time they make major changes they always tack on "and future TLP servers"

Will it be sooner rather then later? only Daybreak know's that answer.

I can relate to the OP. For me, I am not interested in a race ie. I'm not catching up in a month, not to mention the clock is still ticking during that month you mentioned. Besides, its the older stuff I am more interested - that which we can no longer experience on current servers. I am more interested in a slower 'progression' server, as the old original world holds my interest; I already have toons in the current one.

If you want to play a phinny type server with truebox then play this one. There are no guarantees that the next one will be truebox. Once RF + LJ are merged they'll probably look to make another non truebox server and rotate box/truebox.

If that is the case, then that means Phinny isn't meeting a niche that the player base is looking for. If Velious is already open, I think that means stuff has been removed / changed already. That's not so interesting, at least to me.

Velious is currently running, but in all honesty, if you want to get your nostalgic EQ fix, Phinny is the best server to do it on currently.

If the only reason to play the game was to have a few items that were nerfed when the expansions came out, or a FEW raid mobs (5 out of how many?) That is in all honesty a really bad excuse. A lot of players are still leveling up in original zones as well as kunark zones. If you want to do original raids you would just have to find a guild that would be willing to do so, and I'm sure there would be a few more than willing to do some of the classic/kunark raids to give you that burst of nostalgia for all of the returning players that are finding Phinny now.

Not to be a , but if the lack of a few raid mobs and some items that got changed, you would only be missing about 5% of the "classic" experience. You could still choose to play the game a certain way if you chose to, IE, only wear classic armor, etc, and most people probably won't care.

I guess what I'm getting at, is if you could articulate what the "classic" experience is for you exactly, and then would could give you a more accurate answer in regards to if you should come back or not. The experience you want may not happen for a long, long while.

You said youre not interested in a race... but List a raid mob, and a zone that takes a raid to get to 90% of the time.

Unless youre referring to old CT the zone.... which is still in game. Same as PoM.

I guess i dont really understand what you would be missing from joinijg the server now?

I hope that instead of firing off new long-term TLP servers, the devs opt to improve the ones they have.

On a FV Rules server, corrupt guild members/leadership are a much bigger problem than plat farmers initially. You should have seen the drama on FV when a Primal went outside of guild back in the day.
