[Agnarr] Top 5 twink items

I am bored, so thought about what the best twink items were, when you look at value for your pp. Items available now on Agnarr

    My top 5:
    1. 1. Smoldering Brand
    2. 2. Flowing Black Silk Sash
    3. 3. Fungus Covered Scale Tunic
    4. 4. Black Alloy Medallion
    5. 5. Hierophant's Cloak

    What is yours?
  2. ElaidaTL Augur

my list is basically for SK/ranger hybrids and in no particular order of importance since this list is class dependent.

    1. white dragonscale cloak
    2. obulus death shroud
    3. Necklace of Superiority
    4. Wurmslayer for a 1h or Argent Protector for a 2h
    5. Incarnadine BP/Fungi Tunic. either or.
  3. Whallowisp Journeyman

white dragonscale cloak is good, if you only consider what it does for your character. But it should not be on a value for pp list, since it cost like 100kpp+.

    +HP items.

HP is a hugely powerful stat at low levels. Damage, haste and so on are capped so the numbers on the item may look great, you aren't always getting full value.

While the jewelry is not cheap, it tends to hold its value across expacs. (not true for most gear)

There are goofy items with 10 - 30 HP on them that are not pricey (i.e., some weapons). This adds up fast.

Most +HP gear can be used by multiple alts.

I recommend this for all classes while meleeing is still viable. Casters can switch to +mana gear or a mix depending on their ability to keep distance and/or avoid hits.

solo vs. grouping impacts this too. If you're going to play a wizard and only group, stack the mana from the start.

For melee classes, a cheap weapon with an overpowered proc is nice. Smoldering Brand, Crystalline Spider Fang (when available) and so on. Most of these aren't cheap right now, early on progression (i.e., Agnarr).

Somewhat out of era things like the pottery idols are a no-brainer too, though they aren't cheap (but not crazy expensive either). Depending on your deity/class it may be worth equipping multiple of the same idol.

For an SK or necromancer, the circlet of shadow is absolutely precious. This is doubly true on Agnarr, since your SKs won't get the invis AA ever. I really can't overstate how much of a game-changer the CoS is.
  6. Superdeath Lorekeeper

on agnarr the necros wont get the innate invis aa either.

All my INT casters get a Stein of Moggok. Everyone capable of casting a DOT gets a Serpentine Bracer. All get equipped with Reinforced Medicine Bags in available slots for the 10% weight reduction. I'm a huge fan of Bear Hide Boots for everyone from Enchanters to Rangers. Moonstone rings for extended range is nice. I can get three bolt spells off with extended range which pretty much kills everything before they can close. My archers, in particular the Rangers, get a Trueshot Longbow/Raincaller. I haven't got any haste items yet on the TLC servers but will when the easily available ones become available. Speaking of haste, I do have tailored quivers for all my characters with bows. Everyone with a bow gets summoned arrows, magic 3 damage, from my Magician. Contest to see if we get to Endless Quiver before I get a Tolon's Bracer. :)

The CoS is indeed awesome but current prices make it ridiculous. I wonder when the nerf of it goes through.
  9. Semah Augur

On Ragefire, prices went way down after a month or so into Kunark. Betting the same will happen on Agnarr, although people /might/ stockpile them a bit more than they did here.
  10. liveitup1216 Augur

    1. prenerf fungi staff, insta click any class regen
    2. fungi tunic
    3. haste item
    4. +hp items
    5. spell damage items (WDS, wardog collar, etc), dot items (BCG, etc), mana pres (ODS, BAM, etc)
  11. Xeris Augur

White dragonscale and ods arent good for sk/rangers... improved dmg helps only ur lifetap. Also for value why would you ever get that, lol. Hierophant cloak is substantially better for about 20kr less.
  12. Ming Tee Augur

Golden fire wedding rings. You can get these for like 4x less than the platinum rings so if we are talking bang for buck the extra 1ac 10hp isn't worth the money to me. Especially in classic when starting out.

Banded armor. I put this armor on anyone that can use it and you're almost untouchable at low levels and will last you up to lvl 50 if needed, actually my 52 sk is still in half banded and tanking in seb just fine lol. Best 80pp you can spend ever. Wu's for monks.

Moonstone ring. Every class that can cast gets one, the extended range and raw mana is tops, another 100pp or less item.

Fungi tunic has to go up here now that we are in kunark, I mean 15 regen? Buy some ds pots and it's like you got a druid following you around pling you.

Hmmm last spot...well I love robe of the ishva for my int casters, you triple your mana at lvl 1...but I think I'll go with djarn ring since everyone can use it. Spell haste is my #1 focus item hands down.

Edit = forgot about fbss, I cant live without haste on melees, even if it is only 11% till mid 20s or whatever.
  13. malaki Augur

You're crazy if you don't think WDC is good for SKs. Lifetap damage matters a lot.
  14. Communist Puppy Augur

    1. Server Transfer Token
    2. Server Transfer Token
    3. Server Transfer Token
    4. Krono
    5. Server Transfer Token
  15. Communist Puppy Augur

shadowknights are the highest burn dps in kunark, and top3 in velious/luclin
  16. Xeris Augur

He said twink items. For 4 kronos you can get hierophant cloak. Use the other 16 to get any other gear you want for the SK. Lifetap damage matters a lot, but not when you're like lvl 40 lifetapping for 85 instead of 65 hp. Plus there's an improved dmg 2 imperial wardog collar you can get + a hiero cloak; infinitely cheaper and better value.
  17. daffie999 Augur

Unless you're talking about PvP... which is funny in itself. The only true twink items are mana/hp regen, haste, and damage. Mana and HP don't increase your damage.

The top twink items will always be fungi tunic, staff, level appropriate weapon, haste.
  18. ElaidaTL Augur

I dunno. i just think about the best items for the class. I guess twink means different things to different people.
  19. Semah Augur

SK Lifetap with UA is non-trivial DPS in Kunark+Velious. We often saw multiple SKs in the top 10, assuming UA was up. I never got a Harla Dar talisman but I wanted one (I ended up getting a Yeli mask.)

In a no budget situation, the best twink items would be the best in slot that suits the leveling range the character is in. HP is massively powerful at low levels in particularly if a damage shield is coming into play. Certain focus effects are extremely good for specific situations (affliction efficiency and burning affliction make a huge difference for a soloing necro for example).

A well-dressed level 50 or 60 character is going to have many maxed stats, which means best in that slot may no longer be a core stat. Depending on class role, stacking mana or magic resist suddenly could be a priority.

The FV server economy is a great example. There are "twink" items from early expacs their that still sell for millions of plat that are not useful 65+ (some arguably lower). Obviously best in slot takes on a new dimension there with the loot rules allowing most raid drops to be sold.

In any sort of budget situation you then lower the expectations to get the preferred stats of your archetype/class. Sure melee will want some haste and tanks AC and HP regen and so on.

Low budget starting out at low levels... most of the stats are not that impactful. HP is. Mana is for casters. A hard-hitting weapon (especially with an overpowered proc) is --if you can only get one thing for level 1 get the powerful weapon. AC shouldn't be ignored at low levels. Some so-so items are cheap that have strong focus effects or some other benefit. A fbss at 2000p could be in budget or way too pricey, really depends on your bankroll.

If you are a poor newbie with no weight reduction bags... you might want to stack STR to allow you to farm lots of heavy drops. Circumstances matter (though in this case I would just go farm spiderling silks to start the bankroll).
