Agnarr 2.0

If the next seasonal server is another TLP starting at classic, I won't be interested unless it has VERY fast unlocks...no more than 4 weeks per expansion. How you guys can keep playing the same exact stuff over and over eludes me, but I won't do it and I won't pay for it.

The next seasonal server should be an event server - like Quarm - and should have tie-ins to Live servers (like Quarm). I'm pretty certain that's about the only way I'd keep my subscriptions during the off season. Coirnav saved me a lot money by not having any reason to keep accounts subscribed.

I do remember watching Trucidation in OW VT attempting to pull mobs after the fix went into effect. It was kind of fun watching them DT themselves repeatedly.

Ya, the competition part of it can be fun, but it seems like outside of Truci, most people on Agnarr didn't seriously try to compete for OW targets. I remember we had 2 dps races w/ FE in Rusty Dagger... we got a Phinny kill in classic, and we lost a CT OW to FE during Velious. The Velious one was really fun even tho we lost. But for the most part, unless there was an OW target up during our raid time at the place we intended on raiding we didn't even try to get OW things.

Not sure if you were in FE. If it was FE then it was probably my guild.
We were farming HoT the first week of Velious and decided to try Sontalak. Sontalak destroyed us and we decided to try again with a little better plan given our composition issues and FE zoned out when we had it at like 80% and still managed to do 50% before we did the last 30% of our half.
I don't know if we would have been able to do it with the group we had there anyway but it was still fun to mix it up.
We didn't do a lot of OW racing type stuff on Agnarr. A few bosses per xpac on average is all.
Was all good stuff though and we enjoyed it when it happened.

Absolutely love the idea of “seasons” for Agnarr.

Run it to LDON. Reset all over for season 2. Do it again and again. And like other games, you could even implement some sort of veteran program that gives titles or recognition to folks who reached certain status or milestones in previous season.

This is not the worst idea I've read on these forums. By far. But that is just because the worst ideas are spectacularly awful.

This is merely a terrible idea. It compounds the badness of the concept of "Agnarr 2.0" N times, where N is the number of seasons before DBG eventually gives up on this game.

The one positive point: after one single season of this, any future TLP that starts in classic will be doomed to fail. DBG will not be able to get anyone to pay those bucks ever again, and will, mercifully, stop it.

One practical reason you cant auto merge, what about character names? What if my name is Joebob on Agnarr 2 but there's a Joebob on Agnarr 1 already? Make one of us change our names? How do they handle this on server transfers right now? Serious Q.

The one transferring gets to be Joebobx and then can rename.

Very happy that so many people like the idea. Was expecting a much more toxic post, but very plesantly surprised
