AFK exp groups question

Is being afk in a long term xp group considered - unattended game play?
Or is offering that service considered - unattended game play?

Just curious....... If either is breaking any rule

It doesn't break any of Daybreak's rules.

However it most likely will piss off groups and will get the person kicked out of the group or the group disbands and reforms without the group leader if they don't kick them out.

I frequently kick out people paying for my AFK levelling service from my group. How dare they.
  4. Phased Sullon Zek Lorekeeper

I'm pretty sure he's referring to people paying to sit there afk in the group and get power leveled.
  5. Febb Augur

Yes, kick them in the face!
  6. Febb Augur

Same thing, not against any rules to afk.

Don't think that's what this post is about. It's about somebody disliking the fact that people sell AFk PL's for Krono. To which i would say, be an adult and don't run to mommy Daybreak just because you dont like something. They wont help you.

Ratting people out, especially for something that has no effect on you, is pretty laughable.

Next time I will make sure to kick out them in the face.

Way off... I always pay to have my alts PL'd to certain points and i'm just wondering if this will get me in trouble or not or the person I'm paying.

My alt sits afk in a group for 4 hours = ok?

I don't see how it couldn't be alright. An emergency can occur at any time in which you are required to step away from the computer for an unknown amount of time. It would be near impossible to determine for what reason a person is AFK. As long as your character(s) is/are not actively doing something, i.e. pet/merc attacking things, you're not technically doing anything wrong. If I'm incorrect in my assumption, having anybody AFK in your group (sometimes a requirement with the game today) so you could request a mission would also be breaking rules.

Makes sense. My bad for jumping to the negative conclusion.

DBG said it was ok to be afk and have mercs out killing things for an indefinite period of time so the only difference is that instead of AI leveling you up another player is doing it.

    They did?

I honestly thought that would get you suspended, if someone reported you?
  14. Ghubuk Augur

    Wrong
  15. Xanumbik Augur

yes they did its a ways back in the forums when someone complained about people afk merc killing in paw or some other zone

    EVERQUEST AFK OR UNATTENDED GAMEPLAY

    March 07, 2018 00:55

It is not ok for an account to be played unattended or AFK.
If you need to go away for longer than a few seconds please move your character to an empty part of the zone or log out completely.
If a character, including any pets or mercs, is found performing actions while the user is away disciplinary action will be taken against the account.
Disciplinary action for unattended or AFK gameplay can include, but is not limited to; account warning, account suspension, and account termination (ban).

Aww shucks I guess my wife is right and I really don't know everything what a let down :(
  18. Accipiter Old Timer

I understand this point but in this case the AFK character is not performing any action. He's just sitting there. Seems like it would be OK.
  19. Jumbur Improved Familiar

My interpretation is, that the mercs and pets must be inactive as well, when the user is away.

Getting xp/faction/loot/evolving items etc. from an aggressive merc/pet is not allowed.

If someone is in the group to deal with the GM you're gonna be fine.

Mostly GM's only investigate after reports and such anyways, so to get caught being AFK usually you gotta actually upset someone else.
