Title says it all, why can't we? Barring things like raid flags and tradeskills which could be lumped into a smaller section of the achievement window that is restricted to character only...what is preventing us from having account-wide achievements? Slayer achievements come to mind, if we could only pick one category. I see little to no reason at all why these should be linked to one character only. A lot of other games roll with the account-wide version...why not EQ?
Veterans rewards comes to mind. Heirloom items would be another. LoN scenario rewards and some other /claim items.
For what purpose? You can already see what account flags you have by viewing your account page. Or are you wanting to only have to do stuff once and then get it free for every alt you make? /no
Considering once you remove tradeskills and quests/raid flags there's really nothing left but Hero's Journey and Slayer stuff...I don't really see the big deal. I'm not asking to get Hunter bags on 900 characters or even more than just the one I completed it on. It's more of a "why not?" scenario, barring the obvious reasons like raid and quest rewards. And no, I do not expect anything like this to ever be implemented nor does it upset me, I am simply curious.
Because of things like DoN factions this wouldn't work. Heros Forge is broken into 4 armor types so that wouldn't work either, there are lots of others in the same way that wouldn't work. I play alts because I have nothing to do with my main, grant them the achievements I have done on my main then what is left to do? You may not want to get more hunter bags on your account but others do, that is why you cannot have this stuff linked to the account. I run my alts through Hero's Journey as I level them up to get the additional gear etc, put this as an account achievement and you lose all those benefits while leveling up a new toon. They may have put in new hot zones but I'll stick to the old ones and follow the hero's path over them, exp is easy to gain gear etc isn't.
