Absorbing an alt as a Persona

Everquest is pretty much a complete deadzone from 1-120. The 'joy' of levelling was the social aspect, grinding mobs back then was good because you could chat, mess around, see what other classes are capable of. 25 years later that's not the experience, so it makes sense to want to get where the actual players are - the endgame/most recent expansion

Too many buzz words. Stop trying to use sitting at your computer as a moral high ground.

100% this is happening. You guys add new monetization every year, and a $50-100 conversion token would fit into the plan.

And? Players can get to the max level from level 1 new character, from level 85 Heroic, from level 100 Heroic and from future level 115 Heroic. The difference is what time it takes. Nobody is prevented from getting to level 125.
Historically, level 85 Heroics were introduced when level 100 ws the maximum level. Level 100 Heroics came to live when level 120 was the max and previous level 85 had a gap 85-90 before they can group with the max level.
If we extrapolate, level 115 Heroics will be introduced after level 135 (so 100 will be too low) max level expansion will go live. That is sometime in the spring of 2028 (if they keep bumping max level every other year). That is it. Asking for level 115 Heroics prior to that is just whining.

And in my experience - there is ALOT of character of all levels playing in EQ. In all guilds, in highly competitive raiding RoV and easy going family-oriented The Dark Reign (on Bristlebane). And plenty of other guilds in between.

Tbh when we reach lvl 130, I would ask for level 120 Heroics.

The amount of time necessary to level - for people not having crews to help out - is crazy.

Why not take $ from players who would buy Heroics? Easy money!

Hmmm, would it interfere too much with power leveling operations and Krono sales that are financing those operations and why would daybreak care about power leveling operations ...

As a separate subject: wil that 120 Heroic come with ToV and ToL progression done or still to do? If those are done, then it will be as difficult to level up as level 100 is today. If the ToV progression is not done for 120 Heroic then they'll be able to quickly gain experience by doing "past expansion" progression, which was not an available path for previous Heroics. We'll see soon enough.
My bet - the progression flags for ToV and ToL will be checked off.

By the same logic "for people not having crews to help out" it will be as crazy hard to level up from 115+ forward. And I had used multiple Heroic tokens in the course of years, and I haven't bought a single one with RL money: those were either freebie granted or bought with monthly DBC cash. I never gave DPG "easy money".

It's like asking why Narcan manufacturers and distributors do not spend money stopping fentanyl epidemics.

    Deleted my response.

You are a fan of personas so enjoy :D.

If it is a new alt, the benefit is that everything your main has done transfers over. If your main is max TS for everything, max Banestrike, max Hero Fort/Res/Vitality, that all is automatically given to the persona. All gear, augments, clickies, everything is shared. The only thing the persona has to do is grind XP and AA.

Compare that to a brand new alt you make. Who while can level up doing progression and mission and collect rewards, still has to do all the work of slayer, TS, farming augs, getting clickies you may want, etc.

The choice is where you want your time to go- grinding XP/AA on a persona.... or grinding slayer, TS, progression, named, clickies, fort/res/vit, augs on an alt while still getting XP/AA

indeed, plus him and people like warling also argue to death to "win", even if their point is to the detriment of the game overall. They don't care, they just want to "win" every discussion

Not 100% true because you can't put no drop item from toon 1 inside house for toon 2 (unless it is a weapon since you can put visible items but not storage of say a back item). If they made all no drop items heirloom then it would work that way.
  13. Galvanize Elder

We're talking about *personas*. Go grind one from 1-125 and letme know how that works for you without any achievements to boost you along. Heroics don't even address the actual painful part of levelling personas.

Achievements became the default levelling process from 111-125, personas can't use that, dev's insist the achievements are there to alleviate 'grinding' , so personas are broken because their only method *IS* grinding on mobs that have their XP gutted to de-incentivize it in the first place. Logging in for 10 minutes a day to clock overseers on a character isn't "playing EQ" if that's the best option for levelling that's sad.

Why is it so unreasonable to ask that a new feature WORKS in the current game? I'd love to know the data on how many personas have hit 125. Maybe 50 accounts worth? It's going to be some absolutely insanely low number

I recently logged into the Vox server for the first time in over a decade and apparently Vox have had a few TLPs merged into it over the years - leading to me having 43/14 chars registered on Vox ... and some of the best characters was entirely unavailable.

Being able to absorb/transfer/move an alt into a Persona of another char would help a lot to avoid having to go through and delete up to 29 of those chars! (ok, I already deleted a few and the good chars are still unavailable).
I imagine that I might not be the only one that ever faced this problem after server merges.

This is why it is bad to keep merging all the TLPs into 1 server.

Omgosh, 43/14 characters? You need a tlp intervention man!

Forced mergers should come with a credit for a free transfer
  18. Captain Video Augur

TLP merges HAVE come with free transers. Sometimes players don't login for a year at a time, or simply ignore all the announcements. Once the server actually merges, the characters have to go somewhere. A persona merge system, if it ever existed, shouldn't have to deal with all the complexities created by inventory mules. The problems cited by that one player are entirely on the player, not the company.

    no one mentioned inventory mules.

I really this should be implemented as a high level cooking recipe.
