AA that causes Group Heal on single target heal?

I think the title says it all, Just curious as I was thinking we had an AA that can cause group heals when we cast single target heals. But I can't remember its name. Am I being my usual daft self?
  2. Brudal Augur

If your a cleric then possibly Tunare's Grace

Actually, it's not only single-target heals that can proc it:

"This passive ability gives your level 95 and higher instant duration healing spells that cost at least 10 mana a 2% chance to bestow your group with Tunare's Grace, which heals them for 14210 health. Additional ranks incraese the chance to trigger Tunare's Grace by 1% per rank."

The vast majority of our healing spells are instant duration and cost over 10 mana, including all three group heal lines, Splash, and Undying Life (a portion of it, anyway).

These are the spells I cast on my guild's last raid (8 TBM events) that qualified:

    Convalescent Splash - 16 casts
    Fervid Renewal - 23 casts
    Fervent Renewal - 13 casts
    Fraught Renewal - 21 casts
    Graceful Remedy - 378 casts
    Mystical Intervention - 108 casts
    Spiritual Remedy - 425 casts
Syllable of Convalescene - 30 casts
Undying Life (possibly only the Lifespring portion) - 56
    Virtuous Intervention - 93 casts
Word of Greater Reformation - 13 casts

Tunare's Grace proc'd 147 times the entire night, so out of 1176 possible procs... that's a 8% proc rate, which is just above the 7% rate promised with 6/6 ranks of Tunare's Grace.

It's a powerful ability if you're a volume healer, and it can focus and crit (usually in the 51k - 66k range and higher when augmented by heal boosters). It kind of puts Beacon of Life (activated instant group heal with a 3 min recast) to shame as the base heal for Beacon of Life is 19000 (around 4800 more than a Tunare's Grace proc) and Beacon usually lands for around 34k.

I guess the fact that you can choose when the Beacon heal lands makes up for the reduced healing, but with that recast, you would only really get to use it maybe 7 times an event (for a 21 min event) and that is only if you were hitting it every 3 min religously and not saving it for an emergency.

Tunare's Grace have different message than the group-heal-on-cure and group-heal-on-dd AA proc?

Neat breakdown overall, btw, though the Convalescent Splashes surprise me. I'm not generally a fan of that spell, as it's so much less impactful than shm/pal AEs

    Yep.

The message for a Tunare's Grace proc includes the ability name when it lands on self ("You feel Tunare's Grace upon you") and a more generic "is blessed" for everyone else, which makes it easy to track:

[Sun Sep 11 21:05:12 2016] You begin casting Spiritual Remedy Rk. III.

The message for a Vehement's Recompense proc (the AA that gives a chance for an additional group heal proc when using damaging spells) is "You feel soothing energy wash over you" on self and an extremely generic "is healed" for everyone else (which in this case is just my merc):

The message for a Sanctified Blessing proc (the AA that gives a chance for an additional heal proc when using spells that cure) is a generic "is blessed unexpectedly" for the target, and I am not sure about self. It is a single-target proc when using single-target spells:

[Sun Sep 11 19:03:19 2016] You begin casting Fervid Renewal Rk. III.
[Sun Sep 11 19:03:19 2016] You can't use that command right now...

[Sun Sep 11 19:03:20 2016] Foob is blessed unexpectedly. <- Sanctified Blessing proc

I think it can be an impactful heal on AoE-heavy events and marginally useful on others if it is timed properly. If my priority target (MT or knight) is well-covered and I know an AoE is about to land (or has landed) on the raid, then a Splash in the priority target's area has the potential to land not only on him but on any target within 50 feet of him.

So instead of casting a single-target heal in that situation that might not land due to all the competition from other healers or a Syllable or Word group heal that would only land on my group, for a 1.8 sec cast time I can cast a Splash around the priority target that would probably hit him and several other targets for up to 50k or so-ish health. It won't deal with all the AoE damage by itself unless I twincast it, but it can give the other healers some breathing room.

That said, I find it an incredibly awkward spell to cast due to its targeting mechanics and it is the only one I have to bind to the keyboard to use. Timing it for maximum output can also be somewhat difficult due to other AoE healing abilities like Shaman Surge and Paladin Splash handling most incidental AoE damage, and I find a bunch of my Splashes landing on those lousy, endless 's swarm pets. In most cases, though, if I see it land on a few actual players, I consider it a successful cast.

If my priority target is not well-covered or I am responsible for keeping him alive, though, I generally won't use Splash even in AoE events and rely on other priests and paladins, along with my own group heals, to deal with the AoE damage.

I finally found the message for a Sanctified Blessing proc on self, this time by casting Nullify Corruption (group corruption cure) with myself as the target (in a group with just me and my merc) to proc it. The proc message (or would it be more correct to say it doesn't have one?) is the extremely generic and unexpectedly different "You have been healed" which explains why I had so much trouble finding it:

[Mon Sep 19 15:28:01 2016] Targeted (Player): Clarisaa
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:01 2016] Right click on yourself to bring up your own inspect window. Use the /toggleinspect command to enable or disable right-click inspecting. You can also enable Click Through Self in the Options Window to stop clicking on yourself.
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:03 2016] Your Deathseeker's Illuminator Boots shimmers briefly.
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:03 2016] You begin casting Nullify Corruption Rk. III. <- Casting Group Corruption Cure
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:05 2016] Your Scaled Ring of Emollious flickers with a pale light.
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:05 2016] A gingerbread defender is cleansed of corruption. <- Cure message (merc)
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:05 2016] Corruption is cleansed from your body. <- Cure message (self)
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:05 2016] You perform an exceptional heal! (36811)
[Mon Sep 19 15:28:05 2016] You have been healed for 36811 points. <- Sanctified Blessing proc message (self)

I also found that Sanctified Blessing, as the description below states, is always a single-target proc, even when using a spell that lands on multiple targets like a group heal/cure:

"This passive ability gives your level 75-105 spells that cure disease, poison, curse, or corruption a 35% chance to heal your target for 10000 health"

This means you must have a target (even for a group heal/cure that technically doesn't need one) for it to proc.

In this example, Bengalee and Shmid were both in my group and in range, but only Shmid (who was targeted when I cast Word) received the proc:

[Sun Sep 18 18:16:03 2016] You begin casting Word of Greater Reformation Rk. III. <- Casting Word group heal/cure
[Sun Sep 18 18:16:05 2016] Your Scaled Ring of Emollious flickers with a pale light.

[Mon Sep 19 15:31:45 2016] You must first select a target for this spell! <- Sanctified Blessing proc fail?

I am guessing that "You must first select a target..." message is probably the game failing to find a target for the Sanctified Blessing proc, as it didn't happen on the previous cast of the same spell.

This isn't really an issue, as the Sanctified Blessing proc behaves exactly according to the description, though I did find the examples with the out of group target a bit strange in that a target could receive a heal proc without receiving the benefit of the spell that triggered it.

It probably isn't a bad thing that the proc works this way, either, as most of the time when we cast group heals/cures we have the MT or a priority target outside of group targeted to avoid having to switch targets away from him, which could cause a delay in delivering the next heal. This also means the out of group MT or target has the potential to receive some healing benefit (the Sanctified Blessing proc) from the group heal/cure when normally he wouldn't receive anything as a result of those casts.

Do not underestimate the power of the SPLASH! If it's used right, it's awesome. And the way i use it, it doesn't affect my spell casting parse (number of spell casts) one bit.
  8. Roxxanna Augur

Splash rules. Especially when combined with a Gina timer that counts down when an ae is about to go off.

Am I reading that right, that you did 8 TBM raids and did around 1200 casts? I wish the guilds I raid with had enough support where I could relax a bit, kinda getting tired of being the overworked mule.
  9. Brohg Augur

I wouldn't wager Clarisa's spells per minute were even a hair less than your own, Roxxanna. She's not "relaxing". The difference is that her guild, Realm of Insanity, finishes events with much greater alacrity, so more casts simply don't fit in a night.

That's what I was getting at, wasn't calling her a slacker.

8 events for me would mean 5000 casts, not counting any wipes...........torture.
  11. Gundolin Augur

I've shut down a lot of my self parsing trying to be able to run my log interval at zero, but last I checked I was running in the low 200's for casts per TBM event, including Yaulps. 150 per event is pretty good DPS.
  12. Clarisa Augur

I actually did around 1500 casts that night, but the above was a selective parse only including spells that could proc Tunare's Grace. For instance, I had to omit 81 Elysian Intervention casts because the spell isn't a high enough level (Lv. 93) to proc Tunare's Grace.

This week's cast count was higher (close to 2000 adjusted), but some of the events took longer than usual because we messed up on them (so the duration increased, allowing the opportunity for more casts).

Here is my full parse for our last raid of 8 TBM events:

The following is my "adjusted" spell cast breakdown. This separates the spells and abilities into types and removes some of the clutter so I can see the more relevant things that were cast. Lesser Yaulp, for instance, is excluded because several clerics add it to macros/hotkeys and end up casting it many more times than is necessary (not that it is a bad thing to do so, but it inflates their cast counts once it gets into the hundreds and is generally not needed given the speed at which we complete events).

I use this when comparing cleric apps to other members of our team. Not everything is included in this for specific reasons (like the Lesser Yaulp example), but most of the spells and abilities we use are:

These values are used to generate a chart (nothing as nice as the stuff Serene does because I am terrible with spreadsheets :() to compare casts relative to other clerics on the team (though this one just includes me because I didn't record the totals for the other clerics):

It's probably not as elaborate as what others are capable of and it's not the only thing important in determining performance, but it helps me a lot in identifying trends in casting and what things cleric apps (and I) need to work on casting more of.

As the breakdown shows, I tend to single-target heal a lot (which makes sense seeing as the MT is usually in my group and most events when he is not are MT-centric unless I am assigned to a specific role) and my group heal counts usually only go up significantly on nights like this when we mess up on an event (when adds get out of control, for instance, more people in the group take damage and group healing becomes the only way to keep them up).

Holy smokes Clarisa, that is why I love your posts.

Thanks, some times I think I should just make up stuff so you can answer questions I didn't know I had. :)
