What takes 24hrs to do to cazic thule server. Just curious, super specific answer if possible please. I don't remember in the last 5-10 years, 24hrs patch? Not complaining, tell me its to use a whole new next gen graphics system. Just curious. THANKS
It's maintenance, not a patch. Think hardware. They're probably replacing processor boards, or switching to a whole new technology for the servers themselves. That's why it's taking so long. Tat
with all the available eq next servers im sure they are putting them to use by upgrading the current old ones to the now spare eq next servers...
The servers have been on VM's for a long time now. So... they're probably migrating them to a different VM host. Doing live migrations works, but takes an incredibly long time on a busy machine with a lot of data changing. Possibly moving to a different type of VM architecture too, we'll never really know. It's not the first 24+ hour downtime - the last one was the move to the VM's about 6 years ago.
