Skip the thread? More like skip the forums, for Uber King Kong.

UKK make it unvelious, 1% XP, no friendly PCs in forums, hate atmosphere, play Hero Wars instead.

I'll just respond to this post since you did 2 that start half the same and the other seems more like it's about you or something? Getting less clear what you're talking about.

You can say whatever you want about the exp rate and loss on rez but it doesn't mean it is accurate.

I never said anyone should be trying to do griklor if they are struggling in group content, if they could get a group able then great that's a big chunk of exp.

On to the difficulty of different expansions, please read what I posted about options of different RoS zones and expansions that would be easier. It may be confusing if you never played these expansions but sometimes in EQ the newer expansion is actually easier and more rewarding, RoS was at the time a decent jump in group dmg because of the dots and abilities which are mostly in OT and skyfire.

RoS sabretooth tigers for example cast rake. It does 99,999 dmg a tick for 5 ticks(30s) and snares. You could get this debuff and others if you get adds and then you have the normal melee dmg. I believe these dots and debuffs mean it is easier to go to the RoS t2 zones or other expansions.
ToV isn't going to be instant insane exp but 109 is fine to try it out if the other zones in RoS mentioned don't work either.

That is awful advice to tell people to just not play, so many long posts even doubling up replies and that is all you've added? It's ridiculous.

I don't find this constructive to further explain things to you "UBER King Kong", if you ever play again let us know what server and maybe you'll get some groups to help you do more than overseer and log out.
Good luck to OP on their questing hopefully you can find the useful posts in the spam.

When you ding 110 move to ToV and start doing the partisan and mercenary quests. Lots of undead, so IVU is your friend. I can show you a spot or two to grind if you just want to burn a lesson. When you get tired of ToV, move to ToL. When you get to LS, there is tons of exp to be had doing the quests, and plenty of places to grind.

I wish our playtimes overlapped so I could group with you some. I agree with some of the other posters that you should consider boxing a third toon. I'm partial to shammys. :)

Edit: Make friends with the Circle of Sisters, especially Tanariel and Ellineth (sp?). They run a group on the weekends and invite friends. Tanariel is VERY knowledgeable on mage stuff. They are an actual roleplay guild, so don't use words like "Toon", etc. :)

Thank you, Goranothos :) Our goal is to hit 125 no matter what, which we have strive for this entire time. The journey thus forth has been amazing, yet now, we're stuck, however, we plan to research & plan our next attack for the next leg of our journey, we just need a little break in-between, so we can figure out how best to tackle this situation.

Sadly, Overseer is definitely your friend for xp post 110. I've leveled 5 alts from 120 to 125 since LS went live with nothing but OS and a few collections here and there.

I'm not sure if anyone has said this and apologize if this is redundant or not but do the Hero missions the first time. You get some big exp gains from ToV, ToL and LS. You can wait until July 4th weekend, HOPEFULLY they will do the typical 76% exp bonus, and do the missions in ToV. That will get you 3 levels the first time you do them. I wait for the level range for each of those expansions. ToV : 110-115 ToL: 115-120 LS: 120-125 Reason you want to do that is because you want to maximize the exp gains for each level range. Then you do the progression as others have stated (progression for each expansion's merc and partisan quests) and you'll be max level quick.

I've done this 16 times and it's the fastest way to do it. Add Overseer to it and you are golden. Gaining levels these days is simple because of it. I used to level via grinding and loved it but it's a different day.

Let us know what server you're on so we can help you.

    This is a key point.

You should also consider joining a guild. Some of the servers have fairly active family progression guilds that could offer some help. Then down the line when you're max you can pay it forward =)

As someone who eventually quit over this mechanism of levelling, I can tell you that it won't get any easier unfortunately.

Each time a new expansion comes out and you miss the first few waves of 'progression exp', you'll find it harder and harder to find someone to do it with you (or you'll have to pay someone to TA you through it).

The AMA with the Devs made it crystal clear that they're happy with the way the exp is earned since levels 109+ and have no interest in changing it.

What the means for people like you (me) is that you'll constantly be p*ssing into the wind.

I have levelled 6 characters to 125* and I had a backup group around 105+ that I was in the process of levelling when I just realised this is going to be a constant thing that will never get better so I took the easy way out and cancelled accounts etc.

I still love the game as you seem to and I only wish the devs would bend a little and show some love for those of us who aren't in a guild, have a bunch of friends or are rich enough to pay someone to help me level.

    * Before anyone asks, the only progression I ever did was Griklor and I think 2 others that I had a free TA on. The rest was grinding and Overseer which, as people have said, is a terrible way to play this great game.
  10. uberkingkong Augur

Your saying as 109 looking forward to it getting easier. You did 120-125 only OS?
    Ooooh
Doesn't get easier after 109? Oooh
    Overseer? Ooooh

    Remind me what is overseer?
Not playing the game just clicking buttons and getting free xp?
What other games have this kind of gameplay where there is a bunch of zones and what not, and the best thing to do is. Click buttons and logout after 5 minutes of clicking buttons?

    Hrmmm.

This is a good strategy, continue.
Overseer came out when? ToV? Hrmm wonder why.

Yes I agree with whoever they are listening too. This is a good strategy lets keep continuing.
Lets bring it to forums and see if 200 people say something, oh 200 people didn't say anything. Lets continue then.

smh, the way these people look for data so silly.
People didn't show, no interest in PvP then.
People didn't show, this is a good model.
They be thinking people gonna say something.

EQ is one of those games were if something ticks you, you just leave, people try and give EQ a chance, they have already given EQ chances, EQ has not delivered in the past, maybe multiple times in the past.

So they go on, like not worth my time.
No one says anything because they already tried, EQ did not deliver, so no bad talks.
This must be a good model going on. This TBL - LS same of gameplay must be good.

Yeah it must be good, know what I'm start agree too, while I do my overseer and logout.
They spend a whole year ToV, a whole year CoV. A whole year ToL.
And what I do? Overseer and do not even see any of that content. Its mainly due because the content is not playable, not as in difficult, more so as in not BALANCED, as in the nonraider content for nonraiders. ZERO LFG, at all times. Even when new launches, still ZERO LFG day 1, no one group anyone else ever via the LFG system.

Know what they do. Lets not even discuss LFG on Live, just ignore the fact that no goes LFG. Its not a big deal. Everyone is boxing. But we are not making boxing stuff.

Too much look the way at this. Look away at this.
We encourage boxing. But we don't encourage boxing by not making any boxing UI stuff.
This game got issues. RPG factor needs LOOKING at. LFG factor needs LOOKING at on Live.

If you look at how other games combat LFG and being old and keeping the community together? meta events.
Other games, 100+ people event, you just show up, you can join the squad or not, its not necessary. Help out on a big fight, on a big quest chain. Get rewarded.
Then their raids 10 people event, just challenging is all.
Other game meta events its constantly, its not no lockout timer because you beat Naggy. Its constant, starts up again 3 hours, starts up again in 3 hours.

If other games did not have meta events, they'd be in the shape EQ is in right now. Look at the MMORPGs with meta events vs those without meta events. Big difference.
  11. Lodestar The Undefeated

Everquest has delivered for us since 1999; so well in fact, that we are not playing Hero Wars.

Even Mark Zuckerberg is getting tired of hearing about meta events.

Don't be just using random snippets and making different narratives.
What I posted from the thought, if you read it full
    1. EQ is one of those games were if something ticks you,
    2. you just leave,
    WHY?
    3. give EQ a chance
    WHY?
    4. they have already given EQ chances
RESULT of giving EQ a chance, maybe it will be different expansion 24, maybe expansion 29 will be different.
    RESULT???
    5. EQ has not delivered in the past, maybe multiple times in the past.
Came back in expansion 19, I said my peace about what EQ needs to do, 5 expansions nothing.
Come back expansion 25 said my peace about what EQ needs to do, they still not delivering.

    What you do?
You bring up 1999, I already have a thread, probably got removed, no one complains about Classic days. This is Live forums. We talking expansions 17 18 22 23 24 29 30
Didn't deliver in the past, give it a chance. Said that in expansion 17, said that in expansion 22, said that in expansion 28.

Narrative? Your posts do not qualify you to be able to comment on anyone's narrative, including your own. Jumbled sentences in improper English of unending length do not allow for a narrative to exist. The only thing we can do is take a snippet from such unformed hogwash. What did you expect?

Here's what I can tell you:
    1. EQ has been boss since 1999. That includes 2024.
    2. Nobody on these forums cares about Hero Wars.
    3. Nobody on these forums cares about Palworld.

    Howdy folks,

I'll admit, We love our mages, and we had a great time playing them, but the game got too hard for us. (it is what it is) Our original plan/goal was to assume that our mages could tackle anything thrown at us while using our mercs for group content to 125. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I'll admit, we created alts, my wife made a wood elf druid and I started a wood elf ranger, and we're happy again playing through the game as newbies. I now get why people restart with alts, because the end game kinda sucks, however, we can use our mains now to finance our alts :) I should have mentioned that we probably need someone who can slow / cc in our group with our mages. That would probably make all the difference. It's funny, cuz that's exactly how I used to feel back during my heyday with PoP & GoD.
  15. Orablast Elder

Our mercs are well geared atm and we're granted auto aa with each level, however, the trophy part is lacking. I'll look into this, Cats. Your insight is well appreciated as always.

    Thank you,
    cc

I'll admit, we're leaning more towards this thought, we either enc or sham, yet, it's just another mouth to feed.
  17. Orablast Elder

I don't agree with everything you're saying, but I do like the smell of what you're stepping in.
  18. Orablast Elder

The funny part here is that we actually tried playing on Teek, and don't get me wrong it was fun, no doubt till level 25 to 30ish kicked in. FT is where our mains are, and we're going to enjoy this server while it last :)
  19. Orablast Elder

My final conclusion, we like to play 7days, Raft, and FO76, etc, and now EQ will be in our rotation mix :)

I don't want to change eq for the rest or ya'll, but it would be nice to just grind xp again ( you know what I mean)

You’re not alone with that feeling. Coordinating quests between multiple players within the group takes a lot more effort than just picking a zone and slaying monsters. It’s just an easier and more relaxed night of playing, and I would recommend your group tries running missions for loot and experience.
