    Level 60-80 - A few well selected zones

    • 55-75 [EQ/DoN] Estate of Unrest: The Curse Begins [Adventure] - Butcherblock -> Savil Tranquilsong.
      Does require a minimum of two player characters and one mercenary to start an adventure.
    • 63-80 [TBS] The Buried Sea (HOTZONE) - All isles do have mobs of different levels, races and difficulty. Plenty of humanoid mobs (Pirates at W and N, sirens at NW, galigabas at NE, goblins at E).
    • 66-77 [PoR] Arcstone (HOTZONE) - Start with wolves to the left, then try the undead riders upon the hill.
    • 67-82 [TSS] Icefall Glacier - Animals; kobold and goblin caves to the NW.
    • 68-81 [TBS] Jewel of Atiiki (HOTZONE) - Plenty of spots; try the pyramid dungeons if you need a challenge but stay away from the sand golems as their xp is capped by an anti-grinding mechanism. You can enter the pyramids by climbing onto the top of them. Nothing in the zone but mummies does see invis but the dungeons do have monster traps.
    • 70-80 [TSS] Vergalid Mines
    Level 80-100- Just the copy from a segment of the long list above

    Very outdated in the lower levels if you're aiming for speedy leveling.

    When was the last time you actually created a new character and did any leveling, solo or group?

    Couple caveats for solo/molo players that aren't running boxes:

    LDoNs and instances such as Unrest: Curse Begins cannot be started by a single player with a merc. Multiple player characters in a group are required.

    Undead list needs a revisit as well, many of the places listed are longer undead such as the majority of Crypt of Decay (the knights might still be, I didn't test them), Undead Murkgliders in Wall of Slaughter, etc. Whatever changes they made recently a few months ago with NPC tags removed the 'undead' tag from a lot of things, even if they have the word "undead" in their name. I haven't been able to find an accurate list for undead yet, as even the one posted here has several errors.

    Tested these myself few weeks ago.

    Thx for your feedback Iiveitup216. Have attached notes to the instanced zones. The undead problem seems to be solved as it got proven by screenshots. I might test that myself soon.

    Maybe Side notes:

    for the zones that are affected by Hardcore to note lower levels may want to avoid them in June.

    that Hot zones may vary depending on your server (they change 1st of the month and might other times) and there are zones that can be hot zones but are not marked ie: Natambi level 45

    The zone lists are not meant to be the perfect leveling guide for the fastest route, it should just give the players a better orientation and more options. Most players do only know and play in TSS which is only a small and modern fragment of the game.

    When you want to add more zones and zone spots please include detailed informations about the mob level range (not PC level range !) and difficulty as I do not know every single spot in the game and have no time or options for testing them !
    I have to rely on the informations from ZAM mostly.

    Is there a hotzone quest from Franklin Teek involving Natimbi ? There does not drop a hotzone aug afaik.

    I checked ZAM and they are listed as lvl 32-40 mobs which does mean that they are good for lvl 35-45 PCs. Do you play on a TLP server ? What about their difficulty, could they be single pulled easily and are there roamers ?

    Never had seen that aug dropping but I might add Natimbi as a hotzone.
    Please take a look at this, maybe you can find more hotzones that are not listed, even not on ZAM.

    There is no security risk and it has no macros. Btw, I found the Flawless Natimbi Pearl on the spreadsheet but it was not listed as a hotzone by me which is years ago. What makes you sure that it is a hotzone ? Just because the augment does drop ? Could all zones that randomly do drop augments be considered as hotzones ? Maybe they just were hotzones long ago, but are no longer ?

    Natimbi is listed there as a hotzone but on the zone site it is not.
    So the zone site might be outdated or the zone is not longer a hotzone.

    Any zone that was at one time or currently is a hot zone has a "special" aug associated with it.

    "Every time Sony makes a zone into a Hotzone they add an aug that drops from there."

    Natambi is listed under Allah as a hot zone and it shows the pearl as the aug.

    This aug was introduced in the hotzone lineup that was revealed on June 9, 2010. On progression servers any zone under level 65, those hotzone augs drop when TSS is unlocked. From old archives: (back when Sony started hot zones)

    "even though the zone this drops from is no longer a Hotzone this aug still drops and most likely always will drop from that zone.

    Sony has never gone back and removed a hotzone aug before"

    I frequently take my alts here and as they level up also to Fear Itself because those 2 zones have a very high rate of hot zone aug drops.

    It seems that Natimbi and a whole bunch of other zones are no longer hotzones because there are three factors for the status of a hotzone:
    1. Primary factor: Experience bonus - Seems to be inactive
    2. Secondary factor: Daily hotzone quest from Franklin Teek - Seems to be inactive
    3. Teritary: Random drop aug - Seems to be active
    For the leveling guide it is irrelevant if an aug does drop in Natimbi. Only the xp bonus would be relevant. The xp in the zone is not bad but it is not possible to spot a hotzone xp bonus.

    It is not. It is only noted that it once was a hotzone at the hotzone site. 2010 is long ago.
    Active hotzones do have this tag up in the quick facts: HOT ZONE

    It is safe to download. You might use another browser like Firefox or Seamonkey to download xls files.

    Where do you get this criteria? About there needing to be 3 factors. Source.

    Cannot find any resource that states this. All resources list all hot zones since inception and no where does it state any are no longer active. And it can't be due to when it was made a hot zone as Moors was also made hot in 08 and still rotates thru and drops the aug.

    Pure logic is my source because all three factors were inherent (part of a hotone) when they got released. :) . Blightfire Moors might still have an active daily task (cannot find one on ZAM) or a zonewide xp bonus linked to it, but I am not sure about Natimbi. The hotzones are just messed up I think.

    Basically I could just update the natimbi site at ZAM and add the hotzone tag but I do not have a reliable source of information I could rely on. Only Darkpaw could provide an actual info about which zones are still active hotzones.

    I have complete lists of hot zones, since the inception of the concept. Natimbi was on the list posted June 9, 2010. Changes happened. The three current hot zone rotations were implemented in or before April 2016. Supposedly each current hot zone has an aug that drops from random mobs in the zone, whether or not it is in hot status. It is possible that the once-upon-a-time hot zones had the zone-wide augs also and they were coded to stand.

    Yes, but the patch was about using rotation. In addition to when the server updates then it rotates every 3 months. Per /cal also.

    Patch message April 20, 2016: Hot Zones now randomly rotate between three possible zones for each level range and are currently set to rotate every 3 months first of January, April, July, and October.

    The new hot zones mentioned in the patch were just that - new ones that were introduced, not the only ones. They did not deactivate the old ones and those still rotate up now and then.

    If you look up that zone in Allah then it does not list "A simple task" in the quest list for Blightfire Moors on that page.

    Even though the top of that page says in red Hot Zone.

    Even though it is listed in the hot zone article from Allah that I linked.

    Would not be the first thing Allah has not gotten right.
