Turn off forced HTTPS (or extension like HTTPS Everywhere). Turn off ad blocker extensions (Adblock/Plus, DuckDuckGo Privacy, uOrigin, etc). Use a different brand browser.
We used 2 PCs and a laptop to try. No HTTPS everywhere, Ublock / Ghostery etc turned off. Same behavior in Edge, Firefox and Chrome. Wife managed a workaround with a copy paste from an old email to log in externally. The ingame link to petition fails everywhere.

There doesn't appear to be an issue on our side so the recommendation is to clear cache and cookies for the site, and then restart your browser and try again. The other possible issue could be a failed Captcha so double-check that that is not the issue. If it is, disable ad/script/popup blockers for the site, wait a bit, and then try again.
